I have bookmarking Demon...can I....

I personally wouldn't point it directly at your main sites as I believe tools like that approach being black hat if not being black hat. However, you could create a FaceBook Fan Page from where you could create new notes and then using BookMark Demon to promote the notes which are pointed to your site. Yet, if Google decides it doesn't like the way you play this too could cause trouble but much less likely so. Therefore, for even more protection link down 2 or 3 levels and then start the auto promotions.

Daily is way too often. First bookmark all the sites you don't own, but which have backlinks to your site. Set up a schedule for yourself. Don't bookmark the same URL too often and don't use too many tags.

I am usually pretty quick at picking up software, but for some reason am having the hardest time figuring out BMD5

I spent the whole day on it yesterday, and am still not sure how many (If any) bookmarks I have with it.

Also the tutorials I've found online haven't helped me much.

If you happen to know of any site with some decent training, please post here, and let me know. I'd appreciate it!

Bookmarking everyday would probably appear spammy, so best to avoid that.

That said, bookmarking shouldn't be your foundation of your backlinks, so hopefully you're getting higher quality links elsewhere in conjuction to bookmarking.

If you've got an established site with lots of links, and good variation of links, semi-regular bookmarking probably won't hurt it. (Definitely not everyday though - too many 'weak' links. I actually mean every once and a while.)

Instead, write some high quality articles, submit it to a few of the top directories (the ones with high traffic and lots of links already), and bookmark those pages instead.

You'll have benefit of traffic to your articles (which, if they are good, will get decent CTR to your site), and it will also increase the chances of those articles being indexed in the search engines, and staying indexed too!

It also means you're not bookmarking the same domain over and over and over... (bookmarkiing sites will eventually ban your account if they think you are being overly self-promotional...)

Continue to write high quality articles on a regular basis, and just repeat the process.

If have found the guides that come with the software very good. What I would like to know is the benefits of pinging pinging part of the software, and how you would go about it. It's not something I've used before. When searching for pinging sites it seems a bit confusing. Is pinging a free way of getting the links seen by search engines?

Youtube is great for instructional videos to learn basics
And if you have scrapebox its great to scrape more pligg sites to post to
Also camouflage is important and slowly drip your bookmarks daily instead of building 500 links to a domain at once.
Its like most SEO tools you will learn through trial and error.
I am seeing good results so far.

It depends on the age of your site, and your current link velocity. Does the site get a lot of new links daily? Then don't worry so much about whether or not you send a few more in. However, if this is going to significantly increase the number of links you might want to rethink your strategy.

Also, if you don't have a huge list of sites, you might not want to send links daily as they are all going to be links from the same sites, which is the same list of IPs. You want some IP diversity when you are building your backlinks for best results.
