200+ visitors daily to a blog

Hi guys, been a lurker here for YEARS.. .

Anyway, I got this blog out of many I have. It is a tech blog and one of the few genuine blogs I run (which means, it is not just created to attract visitors and make them click the ads, I write solid stuff there too that attracts visitors).

I have about 200 unique visitors to this blog each day (I see that in CyStats WP plugin). But I only get 5-8 AdSense clicks per month!

I am not a stranger to optimizing AdSense, I have another blog, a ClickBump style single page site that gets about 10 visitors a day and had 210 clicks in january!

My only theory is that because it is a tech blog, most visitors are male and "computer guys", they either run adblock or know how AdSense looks like and ignores it.

I see a huge opurtunity missed here, how can I earn money on this traffic on my tech blog with AdSense, traditional strategy wont work = blending AdSense in right column and running 726px banner at the top that looks like a menu.

Thanks!

  • With 200+ visitors you should get at least 10 clicks a day. But usually, tech blogs is not a great niche for adsense.

    • You should switch to google analytics for your traffic stats, too.

I thought I was getting about 600 unique hits a day, and when I switched to analytics I found out I was getting less than half of that.

  • ExploringInfinity: Yes, In analytics I get half of that, but even then I should be getting more clicks IMHO.

But as said above, tech blogs are not a good nische for AdSense it seems, much better to build sites focused on women IMHO.

Maybe the problem is that my tech blog is in a nische of a nische in retro computers. The ads are not too well matched to the content. Maybe should add eBay ads to the site?

    • I have a series of tech blog, none of them do well with adsense, amazon on the other hand is pretty good.

Have you go an exit strategy for you blog? A lot of the decent money is made with tech blogs by selling them to bigger networks, although you do need quite a bit of traffic and solid unique content (not just rewriting what comes from google alerts etc)

the name is enough i.e google.dont trust any other.even if you get low clicks.i would suggest to just stick with it.match your website colour with google ads colour.use high cpc google ads.slowly and gradually you will become master.money is very hard to earn.
