Here is one for you guys

keyword is this: car finance australia

exact domain available, was checking top ten in google.com and I found that all the sites have Page Ranks min 2 and max is 6.

All have backlinks too, BUT none of the top 10 have the keyword in the TITLE, DESCRIPTION or H1 TAG as Traffic Travis has stated.

So what do you guys advise me to do?? Can I rank for this keyword??
#1st #keyword #page #rank

You can. However, I think Google team is reviewing manually some sites especially in some type of niches. Finances seems to be on of those.

This is NOT confirmed or based on testing, it is just something I think is happenning

You can rank for any keyword! The question is how hard do you want to work to rank, or how BADLY do you want it?!?!? LOL!

Look at the numbers.... Does it seem feasible?! Reverse engineer your competition to see where their backlinks are coming from. Optimize better than they are... You I'm sure you already know all this... But I like pictures so I'll post them again!!!

That's a good question. Unfortunately, there isn't a "magic bullet" when it comes to keyword/competition research and search engine ranking. A lot of trial and error is involved and you'll learn as you go.

You can't ever think "well that looks pretty easier" or "I've ranked against stronger competition before." It's all up to the BIG G! If your efforts aren't making a ding after a month or two or three, then you should probably change up your tactics, or change some of the content on your site. It's an endless battle!

When you do hit that #1 spot though... It's pretty easy to hold it.

From looking at the top 20 competing sites. I personally think it is doable, but will require some more work than other keywords. I like to look for a couple lower PR websites that I can easily out rank.

I would try to get a .au domain - domain extensions like .info .com .org .net all rank relatively easily... Domain extensions do come in to play though when you're looking at ranking on google.au or google.co.uk.

A lot of your competition does have age on their side... But, as you can see, it would be very easy to beat almost all of them in terms of On-Site SEO. Do it better than they are. Good keyword density. Good backlinks using proper anchor text. Traffic Travis says "relatively easy" and Traffic Travis has been right a lot of times. Then again when I've been doing my homework and come across "very difficult," I've cracked page one in 2 months... I worked my butt off though.

If you're looking at busting on to page one with an EMD, proper On-Site SEO, and a couple backlinks... Well, it's going to take more than a couple backlinks.

I say go for it! And in 2-months PM or repost how it's going. If you're ranking awesome! If not... We'll give you some feedback to see if we can help you out.

Everyone figures out what works for them and what doesn't. That's what I've done... Trial and Error with SEVERAL websites!

      CHEERS!

Then what does that tell you about those sites?
They are very, very authoritative. They have trustworthiness
and a huge love from google.

Those things you mentioned are not a magical formula.

Paul is right. Of course making sure your On-site optimization is better than you competition's is important... But those sites do have some Authority... PageRank and age are on their side.

It is very possible to break onto page one for that search term... But it will NOT be easy by any means. It will take patience, persistence, and time... Probably upwards of 5 months.

If you don't have much experience in this area yet, I would suggest starting with a search term that isn't NEAR as competitive... This is how you'll learn the ropes anyway! It's exactly how I did.

I read somewhere that local domains like .au do help when it comes to local searches.

For example, if you're in Australia... you'd get better rank for .au domains instead of normal .com domains... Anyway, its not a fact as I didn't test it myself. Just my 2 cents

Google takes its cues from a few different things when determining whether a site is geared towards a particular country. Three of them are
        - Domain extension. e.g. .com.au
        - Where the site is hosted
        - Location specified in Google webmaster tools

I'm pretty sure I've seen Google say somewhere that the location specified in Google webmaster tools overrides anything else. Whether this is true or not and you can get a .mx ranking on Google.com.au I don't know.

Long story short: Get a local domain, or get a generic domain and point it to one country in webmaster tools.

.au's will rank better in Australia. Notice in the top 20 sites in the screen shot up there ^^^^ 1:20 is a NON .com.au website... and that was just an american search for an Australian product! Do you really think that .net will show up in the top 20 if someone does that search from an Australian IP?!

.net , .com etc definitely do show up in Australian google top 10 from an Australia IP for an australian location specific search (I am in Australia and just tested it). The domain extension is not the only factor that Google uses to determine location.
The thing is the great majority of Australian businesses will use a .com.au, (for branding and SEO purposes), so they make up the great majority of top search results in Australia by default.

.com.au is useful but not essential if you are targeting Australia

The better question here is why do you want to rank a whole site for this keyword? Sure, you can do it -- and you'll be making one helluva relevant site -- but do you really need your site to be on page one, to sell your finance services? There may be "back door" strategies to drive traffic to your site - like videos and articles, which will rank easier for the same or related keywords and still get you lots of targeted traffic.

If you really want the domain you should not wait to grab it. I have missed out on domain names in the past that I really wanted because I was hesitant to just pay the money to register it when I came up with the idea to start a new site. I have been beaten out on domain names within seconds of checking the availability of them.
