Hey, i tryed to look for some clear information about this but i could'nt find anywhere ,sorry if duplicate thread .

It is starting to kinda embarass me as i wanted some do some keyword/competition research and i could'nt , here is why : i look for a particular keyword on google and i get some local searches , im from europe , i live in france , so french results for that keyword .I know maybe i should focus on french niches but don't feel very attracted for some reasons .. maybe i will do this for some keywords/ideas but that's not the problem here .

Depending the keyword i can get international results and english websites on the top 10 but i have no clue how i could make it so i get only english results displayed , setting the english language on google properties doesn't change anything .

From my research it might have something to do about the "mayday" update am i right ?

So my question would be , do some of you know a "trick" or just a website i could use for free to bypass that (unless iam maybe missing somthing?) , i suppose using market samurai would help , but that's another expense and im not sure i can afford that just yet .

since my english is'nt the best in the world im gonna sum it up again , in case someone did'nt understand .. : how could i get the same google results than someone , let's say in USA ?

Thanks in advance for the help

    Hi
If you go to google.com and type for example blue widgets, you will get the SERPs on display.

Now, in the URL that is displayed in the browser, at the end of the URL, just append
    &gl=us

Now press Enter. You should see the results for blue widgets as it would appear in USA. This is not perfect but can an approximation to the original.

Better still, if you have an Adwords account, you can use the Adpreview tool to view results in different countries.

Cool, thanks alot for that trick , works very well , i hope i can calculate my competition with more accuracy now , but ultimately , would market samurai be the best ? , also can you do local search on market samurai ,if yes that's cool so i can compare the results and maybe share them here

        Hi Itachi
Glad to be of help. I use the Google keyword tool a lot as it is the source for data in all keyword research tools. I have heard lot of good things about Market Samurai.

You have mentioned you do not have much money at the mo. Why not try a free working version of a kw research tool called Serpattack developed by a Warriror? It will save you some $ and it still offers some good basic functions. THere is a PRO version but you dont need it at the beginning.
