Is Google indexing my post

Dear Warriors,

I have made a post on my blog and I need to see if Google has indexed it. I typed the title of my post within quotes in Google and it showed me that there is a result for my blog.

I wanted to double check, so I put the following in Google:

site:http://mysite.com/post name.

It showed me that there are not results.

Note: My permalink is set as /%postname%/

Can anybody tell me what is happening?

  • Indexing is natural and i reckon you'll have to be patient.

    Pinging would definitely help. Go to pingomatic or pingoat (add the .com behind) and ping every new blog posts you make if you want them to be indexed faster.

    • How old is your blog? I've found that it takes about a day to get new blog posts indexed coming from an established blog. Alternatively, it can take much longer if you're posting from a new blog site.
      I agree with @GoldenG... ping it.
      Also, are you social bookmarking this blog and it's posts? Then pinging those pages as well?
  • It takes time to index. If you blog is old and ranking well, indexing will be faster or else it will take some time.

    • Yes it takes time. It goes faster with backlinks.

      Hint: U dont need to put http:// in front to search in google.

      I always search this way:

      site:mysite.com/mypost
