SEO - What is the best way to reach the top in Google?

Hello Everyone,

SEO is exactly the question I need to ask about because I have 4 websites that I have had for 4 months now and all of them are on the first page of Google, 3 of them are position 8 and 1 is position 6 but in the 4 months I have them I have added Profile Links, Blog Comments, submitted articles to Article Directories and even submitted articles to the website themselves for these 4 months and I have had these positions on Google right after the first 2 months in having these websites so for the last 2 months I continue to do this SEO and I don't budge and I was actually higher than this so any suggestions on what would be the best SEO to get these websites to at least the top 5?

    There are a lot more factors when it comes to search engine rankings.

    For example check you domain age and PR. Or maybe they have more high quality links than your site.

    Its a long way to reach on top of google or in the first page on it. Quality and Relevancy is the key.

    Good question.

    Good replies. Here's my take:

    Get a lot of people talking about your site. Doesn't matter whether they hate it or love it, it's link juice.

    Get a list of 10 sites you want links from, that are highly relevant and are pretty good ranking websites.

    Target them individually. Comment on their stuff, build relationships with the webmaster and try to deliver something valuable enough for them to link to you.

    Good SEO takes some time, brains and patience.

    Additionally, if you really want to start ranking seriously well, build relationships with authority Tweeters. Follow them, reply to their stuff, retweet their stuff and talk to them directly.

    Ultimately, keep building links - Make sure the anchor text (if you can) is reflecting the exact words you want to rank for, keep your keywords near the beginning of the titles on all of your pages and be as human as you can with the whole process.

    That's SEO 3.0, considering the new Google.

      Build links with edu.gov sites and others quality sites relevant to your niche. Try to get more links of those sites that having a good PR in the search engine. But it doesn't mean that you're ignoring the less popular sites. Make a good combination of both but give more priority on good sites because it can pull your site to the higher rank.

        Setting aside what you should be doing upfront to seo your site for the search engines and your visitors, The easiest and quickest way is:

        1. Create content with/for exact match search query.
        2. Ping it
        3. Add it to an rss feed and submit
        4. Bookmark the content and the RSS Feed

    seo can take a very long time, I'd guess the lower quality the links the longer they take. So keep that in mind. I did some article submissions and my site moved up for a about a year following a couple of years back.

    the answer is "work, work, work".

    Article submission, Link building, bookmarking.

    There was a very good thread a couple of days ago how to use tools like senuke also.

    But above all, site quality and site-age/authority also play a big role. If your site is older and has some authority it hardly takes any big SEO to gain good rankings.
