Getting Wikipedia Links

It goes without saying how important anchored wikipedia links are. They are the holy grail of links

Any strategies on getting links to our sites?

  • The holy grail? LOL!

You just type them in. When they get deleted, give wiki
    another spamming.

They are nofollow, so not sure why all the fuss. I have had a few,
and if you get them to stick, more power to you. I assume your url
must not look spammy, and the page must not be one that is prone to
spam. But then, if the page is not prone to spam, the visitors are probably
few and far between. Get an authoritative sounding url and you probably
    better your chances.

    • There is a thread right now that is arguing to ignore nofollow completely. And even a nofollow link from an authority like Wikipedia is a great quality backlink to have.

  • I have some, they aren't all that great. Traffic isn't bad but don't expect an SEO miracle or anything.

If you want to go to war with the wiki mods and try to sneak something through be my guest but it's not really worth the time or effort.
