Where's the Traffic?

I see that someone asked how to make your first $100-day. $100?! Hell, I'd just like to know how to make my first $1-day. I've only been doing this for about six months (I know, a mere infant compared to most), but I haven't made a dime!

Where's the traffic? The only time my traffic increases (and by that, I mean maybe 30 views) is when I add something new and post it to Twitter and a few social bookmarking sites. But the very next day, I'm back down to 5 views again. I tried adding a new article every day for a while, and traffic did go up a bit (again, maybe 30 views), but as soon as I missed a day, it was right back down.

I've built related Squidoo lenses and Blogger blogs for backlinks - I've commented on a few blogs and forums . . . I don't get it. The only thing I haven't done yet is a YouTube video, and that's only because I don't have the "balls" to do it.

I'm by no means giving up - hell, I've worked too hard to do that! But, I would like to know if I'm missing something or if this is just something that takes a whole, whole, whole bunch of time.

    • I'm in a few niches. I sell PLR - I have a few Amazon affiliate sites - Work at home niche - gardening - hcg diet.

Thanks for your time and advice!
  • Yes you're missing something indeed. Without more info we can't say what exactly.

Listen up. You want targeted BUYING traffic.

Visit this site: Google keyword tool

    Google.

Find a niche you want to get into (note anything from 100 searches is worth talking about)

To get traffic all you need to do is write articles which container the keywords that are getting searched. Add them to your article title and a few times inside the article body.

Submit them to your blog, site whatever. Then once you can find the page in google (by pasting the URL into the search box) then go over to www.ezinearticles.com and submit the same article their.

Keep writing articles and overtime yes a few weeks you WILL see traffic coming in.

But don't stop. Keep writing new articles and give the search engines time to fall in love with your site.

I have 1 site I havent touched since August and the traffic and income has basically doubled!

Please give this method a shot. If you want to make your first dollar (and a lot more) I "almost" guarantee this will work for you.

    • How often do you mention these keywords in your articles?

    • When you say you haven't touched it since August, does that mean no promotion whatsoever? And how long did you work on it (promoting, article writing, etc.) before you were able to just leave it alone?

  • You probably have the basics of how to make this work it's just a matter of narrowing down your focus to get those first few clicks and sales. think about the right keywords (May sound a bit strange - at first!)

  • sounds like you're harnessing social tools quite well, but despite what the masses might tell you this is not the best way to get targeted traffic.

the best way still remains search engine traffic, so it looks like you need to syndicate some of your content with article directories - essentially to build links and improve your search positions. start by doing some basic keyword research and then write articles around them. link back to the content on your site from these articles and watch your traffic steadily increase.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Most new marketers including myself when I launched my first website make the biggest mistake by not doing enough research. Most people will pick a domain name that doesn't include the keywords that they are targeting or try to get into an overly competitive area and can not compete with high PR sites.

If you are absolutely in love with your site and still want to promote it, then yes you can still do this with success.

Some of the other warriors suggested article writing and that is an excellent way to get quick traffic and one way high PR back links to your site.

However, with that said, I would suggest finding a promotion method that best suits. Most people will try many different methods for generating traffic and quit out of frustration and info overload. Find one method that you enjoy and master it. Chances are if you enjoy it, it won't feel like work to you because it is fun. If you keep doing the things that you enjoy, your results will start coming fast and furiously.

If you do decide to do article marketing like on ezinearticles.com like I do, keep in mind that Chris Knight the owner wants only original content. Yes your title and article body should have your targeted keywords in it but do not over stuff. By quoting two of the most successful bloggers on the net (Shoe Money and John Chow), write for your audience first by posting quality relevant content and not just mindless keyword stuffed articles to impress the Google Bot. Remember that readers who truly enjoy your quality content are more likely to click on your links in your resource box to visit your site.

    Hope this helps

really really really i have the same problem and i dont know what i must do....i create then 30 or 40 back link (blog commenting ) daily and i use bookmarking sites. and the traffic doesn't comes up.
  • There is this misconception that everybody can be an Internet marketer just by creating a website and doing the same old thing everybody else does chasing back links making social bookmarks etc. etc.

The first thing you should do if you want to make money is find a viable market. Then you research that market to see what needs are not being fulfilled or how you can fulfill the needs better.

When you have done that you'll realize you need a plan. And your plan should include how to get your offer in front of the people you target. It's not about traffic.

If you don't figure that out you lose.
  • i am in the same boat, though im a lot newer to this than most. im five days into the click income tycoon system.before this system,i tried a few others that just left me hanging after i made payment. i never knew that to generate the kind of traffic you need to get the word out depended on keyword placement and mass mailing. my guess for you is to look into getting your message out to more than just a few outlets and to be sure to use your keywords to get picked up by the search engines...

  • The easiest way to get traffic is to pay for it. I know no one likes to say that, but I've been doing this for many years and I still pay for Google Ads. Does it cost a lot of money? Yes, it does, but it brings in a whole lot more.

When I start a new website/resource I invest heavily in Adwords. Over time as my site climbs in Google, I lower my budget in Adwords for that product, and raise my budget for others.

My adwords ad always directs the potential customer to a squeeze page or a sales page with an opt-in to a free product directly related to the Adwords Ad.

Doing this over the years, I have built my list up in my main niche to a very large size. Now, whenever I want to promote a new product in that niche, I just send a direct ad to my list. I can predict within a few percentage points how much I will make with each mailing...and there is NO DOUBT that I will make that money. As long as you don't abuse your list, and send them out some freebies once in awhile, this works like a charm.
  • I purchased Click Income Tycoon System and can tell you it's all about leveraging. Very similar to MLM. You switch your search engine to Zibzoom and get paid for clicks not sales.
What they fail to tell you is that you can be a free affiliate for Zibzoom but the money is really in the next levels which is either Prime = $200 or Pacesetter = $500. This is where you get paid for everyone elses clicks. You also get paid $25 for every free affiliate you sign up or $50 for a Prime sign up or $125 for a Pacesetter sign up. This is it in a nutshell and nowhere in the sales video do they mention the extra payment levels. I've asked for a refund because with the exchange rate from NZD to USD it was too expensive and I also felt it was misleading by not disclosing the extra charges.
I just want Warriors to have an honest review as I'm sick of all the scams out there and people giving their opinions when they haven't even purchased the program. No offence intended!

  • I can tell you right now there is Traffic on Facebook

I recently decided to try Adwords content network image ads. I didnt screw about made 2500 banners, found 48,000 keywords and posted about 2 million ads.

So I followed the advice from a year or 2 back to get 1c clicks.

Result: It took 20c CPC before I got a measley 200 clicks over a few days even with millions of image ads set up.

Facebook I set up a single ad and had the same number of impressions and clicks in about 3 hours once it got approved.

Heres the problem with Facebook PPC --> There is no editor

To get bulk upload you need special permission and they banned the free tool for doing it. All the bulk upload services are expensive.

Bulk upload is the key for FB PPC.

Facebook also takes Paypal directly. If you sell your own product on e-junkie you can directly finance the traffic with sales revenue. Complete autopilot.
