    That's correct. The name of the game is promotion - not backlinking. Not saying that backlinking for organic purposes doesn't help - but getting the word out about your site (I guess branding) is a better way to go.

    Some forums do allow sigs to be sold but you won't see anyone here do it, If you do report it to admin who will remove it, as you are only allowed to have sites you own in your sig. One of the best forum rules there is to stop bull crap sigs.

    yes many members sell their own signatures because they earn money and also get back links .Mine think this method is useful for get back links .

      The best thing you can do is stick around here on the forum..

      the signatures are only good for things like getting new sites indexed,
      this is because you will have a lot of posts before you are even allowed to put links in your signature, and once you do this all of the posts that you have ever made here will be changed to have that link.

      Then Google crawls this website several hundred times a minute.. they will probably find 20 or 30 posts if you are on here enough(which you should be because this is where you will learn EVERYTHING that there is to know)

      and bam, they see the new content and then index it

      or you can promote your own products


      FYI though. AFFILIATE LINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN SIGNATURES
      ive seen several people get banned for this..

    I agree as stated above, instead of selling signature it would be better to promote our own products/services as far as traffic is concerned yes sometimes you get targeted traffic through signature links
