Good Traffic Sources for Building a List?

I just wondered if anyone had any good ideas for what paid traffic sources you can use to build a list?

I don't really want to spend hours of my life seducing Google and their quality score, only to probably get slapped anyway later on.

I hear Facebook is going the same way with it's quality score, and the way it regulates it's ad system?

Basically, I want to build an email list as fast as I can. I want to do that by sending paid traffic to a squeeze page. Does anyone know of any good traffic sources for doing this with?

The niche I am targeting is health/physical fitness.

Although they have their own quality score system as well, I am thinking of using Bing, and maybe looking at advertising on some 2nd tier search engines.

Are there any traffic sources I am missing/not thinking of?

I posted this in another thread someplace but give Ebay Classifieds a shot. It will cost you $9.99 for a month to list it. Throw up your Freebie there and direct them to your opt-in page.

I did pretty good with this in the past and am actually going to put a couple of classifieds up this week.

Otherwise, you look like you have a pretty solid plan in place.

If you are looking to build your list fast, try buying solo ads. Check out the JV section here on the forum as there are pretty good deals within your niche that you find over there.

    Good Luck,
    Rich

    Hi Rich,

Really appreciate the feedback. I haven't heard of advertising using Ebay classified ads for a looong time now. I'm pleased to hear it still works! Thanks for the heads up!

I overlooked a basic advertising source as well it would seem, I took for granted that all the list owners here would probably be in the mmo niche. Thanks for the reminder and the direction!

You're goal is building your list... SO it means you have researched probably hundreds of keywords already. Look at the top ten websites that appear on Google for each of your keywords and contact the ones that already have either Adsense ads or stand alone banners on them.

Simply make them a proposal to have your own banner running (since you'll be paying for impressions I advise you to look for sites where you can place your banner ABOVE the fold).

      Good luck .

    Thanks Dan,

Appreciate that. I had thought of taking that approach with the Google Display network, and targeting specific pages and sites with my ad, but then I figured I'd still have to mess around pleasing the Google "Gods".

I totally over-looked contacting the owner of the site directly though! Thanks for the tip!

Stay clear of adwords. If you want to build a list there is a plugin these days that builds your list virally by getting referals from your current list works a treat
