Link Building 101: 5 "To Do's" When Creating On-Page Links
- SEO |
NOTE: I do not recommend using only one method.
To that end lets talk about some key strategies for building your on-page content.
#1: THE USUAL:
If you've ever read information related to on page links then you will have heard about meta tag optimizing, H1 & H2 strategies, on page content and such. While this alone can make up for way more than "5" there are other points I'd like to cover too. My recent Warrior Forum Special Offer goes into great detail on these points and more.
#2: INTERWOVEN
Be sure to link between your pages within your site. This way when you help both pages increase there relevancy within the search engines. The more links I create which lead from one of my pages to another the greater action I'll see from the search engines. Just be sure that the links are keyword phrase focused. I generally look for 2 to 3 links per page created in this manner.
#3: SHARE THE LOVE
Here is a strategy that people generally do not think about when building links. Simply put, point links at other properties that are related to your niche which have a high PR value. Don't worry about getting a link back to your project from the site. Reciprocal links aren't what they used to be for the most part. When search engines (ie Google) see this taking place they consider your site an authority site. I'll be covering this in more detail in my upcoming Webinar on the 22nd.
#4: CONTENT IS KING
Generally speaking people think of content as text, and it is. But content can also be images, videos and a host of other things including Podcasting. The more relevant content you create for your pages the greater the chance that your visitors will remain on your site longer which increases how relevant your project is in the site of the search engines. A free tool I use for PodCasting is Odiogo - Check it out because it is cool.
#5: WHERE's THE TITLE
Those who have studied the art of link building know about creating page titles and even H1 titles for their projects. But titles go far beyond that. You can also create image and link titles very easily which bring yet more link juice your way. Especially if you focus on LSI (Latency Semantic Indexing) techniques for creating these titles.
