Hi guys, new to the forum..

There's a program that I've been looking for returns either red, yellow or green light depending on how crowded a particular keyword or niche market is?

I've used and tested Market Samurai, but am looking for something a bit more simple till I get the balling rolling and the basics down.

Or you guys can share whatever one was the biggest help to you.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey if you want simplicity, just use the google keyword tool..

    Search "google keyword tool"

It's the first result. Simple, clear and useful =)

Brad Callen's "Niche Finder" software does just that. This one's only purpose is finding profitable keywords and telling you how easy or difficult they are to be able to rank for using the Red/yellow/green colours.

There is a warriors only special offer topic he created selling it at 50% discount:

Definitely try out Traffic Travis. It's absolutely free and it is amazing:
Free SEO Software | The Best PPC & SEO Management Tool -Traffic Travis
When you put in your keyword it will give you a 1-5 star rating and tell you if it is "too difficult" to rank for or "relatively easy" or "very easy" I really like that feature as opposed to Market samurai that just gives you raw data (I use Market Samurai too) Mark Ling has built his entire 6 figure business using this software. It works!
    Hope this helps!

I used Traffic Travis for a while before switching to Market Samurai. It's nice, but having used the later there really is no comparison.

I completely agree which is why I favor Market Samurai, but for the "good keyword" or "bad keyword" simplicity, Traffic Travis' feature is great. It's a perfect way to start out.

    Good ol' Google Keyword Tool.

All the other programs and tools merely aggregate a lot of the data - why not go to the source, ya know?

Google keyword tool doesn't tell you how easy it'll be to rank for a certain keyword.

        Hope this helps!

      • Actually the google keyword tool shows what the competition is for a particular word or phrase. The less competition the better your chances of getting it ranked.

No tool will give you true results, only a reasonably good guide as to a keywords ease of ranking and ultimate profitability. The Google Adwords KW tool returns search volumes that tend to on the high side. As far as competition, number of competing pages is concerned, Google's results vary wildly with every page refresh sometimes, so it is hard to guess what figure these software tools use. Some use Yahoo which is generally more stable in its result returns.
You are best off getting a "feel" for this type of thing using your own parameters rather than relying on a tool 100%, although they can give you a guide for deeper investigation.

Keyword Sniper Pro 2.0 is the best tool for researching keywords, though it doesn't give you any red light or green light for competition as you desire. But it does show the number of competing pages.

You're missing out on alot of very valuable keywords if you continue to rely on the GAKT alone. Check out Keyword Sniper Pro 2.0.

The Google Keyword Tool is good for checking the monthly searches and CPC for specific keywords that you've already found. But if you're looking for new suggestions of related keywords, then it's horrible - it only suggests a tiny fraction of all the related keywords out there. So if you continue to rely solely on the GAKT, you're missing out on a lot of great keywords that are hidden gems with a good amount of searches, and the competition is virtually nonexistent.

The tool you are looking for is from the blueprint project black edition. It's free to download since the blueprint project is closed now. You can get it on the official blueprint project webpage. Just google it. It is easy to use and has the traffic light system.
