Questions on an 'About Me' page

Hi,

Just learned about the importance of doing up an 'About Me' page for my site, so I'm finally getting at it(so much to learn, so little time) and need a bit of help.

Hoping some warriors can come to my aide as I'm not having much luck using Google.

Should I be filling out the boxes on WP that ask for:

Title
Information
Key Words

Or should I leave that stuff blank?

Do I want this page indexed or do I not want the spiders to crawl it?
(I think that's the right lingo...not that I know how to do that, yet)

Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom you might be able to provide.

Oh, I have purchased (more then I'll tell my wife) many, many WSO's and I'm surprised how little has been said about this page. Probably why I've left it for so long?

cheers,

I'd love to know this too, along with how to create a site map page, a contact us page & a disclaimer.
Is there some clear cut guife for all of these? My site would look much more professional with all of these pages, I just don't know how to write them (so they sound legal) and where to insert them into my website.

    Hi wanna succeed,

When it came to the "Terms of Use" and "Privacy Policy" I was able to find all sorts of examples and templates that were free to use, by doing a Google search.

I'm using WP so I was able to download a plugin for the 'Sitemap'.

    cheers,

    Hey Jerry,

There's no need to optimize your About page, so I wouldn't worry about keywords, just make the title "About". It's really more about providing a great About page for your visitors. I like to put my mission statement first, and then share some other relevant information about the site. You can use mine as a reference if you'd like (link in my sig).

I would think of the end result goal which is getting your site looking like an authority. I wouldn't keyword your about me / about us page. The title, I would only use Company name and the name of the page "about us" It's fine to leave it for indexing
