Blacklists and SEO

If a site is listed on a spam blacklist, like the ones at MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox or any other blacklist site, can this hurt your rankings or get you penalized?

More specifically, would you want to prevent a site that is listed on a blacklist from linking to your site?

Thank you!

  • i do not think that as i can take your site and ruin it it is not your fault
  • Absolutely not.

Nope, the more links the merrier.
  • I don't think this really should matter. Google uses their system to give rankings and penalize rankings. I don't think they base rankings off a third party especially from a DNS/MX box.
  • Banned
If they did (they don't), and someone put your site on that blacklist, all you would have to do is a google search for your main keyword, then do the same to the first 50 sites.

That would confuse the he$$ out of them & they wouldn't know which one was legit in being blacklisted.

Just keep repeating until your site bounced back.

    Again, it's not an issue.
