PageRank?? When does it start?

I own a celebrity website that gets around 300 unique's per day.. I have over 9k backlinks to sites that are high authority celeb sites of pg rank 4 and up.. (these sites are linking to me) We have a group of sites that exchange links once a week..

I am still sitting at a page rank of 0.. How long does it normally take to see the pr increase?

  • What you're seeing is the toolbar or public PR. Google is updating your PR much more often, but they keep that info internally. There's no schedule for when they update the Toolbar PR, they just do it when the feel like it
  • The last year has been especially bleak in terms of visible pagerank. For whatever reason, google just isn't updating things as much, including on big sites that are well established. The most important thing you can do is make sure your site is a worthwhile destination with repeat traffic and interactivity and people talking about you. Just SEOing the site is not going to get the results you seek in most cases (though many will promise otherwise).
  • PR updates are done maximum 3 times a year so its not a fast process
  • I've read an article on the google webmasters page that google only updates pagerank once a year. You should try reading up the faq on the google webmasters page. It does help me alot...
  • There is no specific time for a site's PR to move, but this is not a big deal, as long as your site is getting more traffic, you're in the right track.
