Hey guys,
I just used the site map generator and created a site map for my blog.
The next step they are telling me to do is: "upload it into the domain root folder of your site " - I don't know what that means or how to do it...
How do I install/add the page into my blog without screwing things up?
Thanks.

P.S I am also looking to create a contact us page, yet I don't know how to do that as well. Can someone please help guide me through all these things? Once I get these things completed, my site should be good to go.

Here is my site Hair Growth Remedies - Aint she a beauty?

I agree Wordpress Google XML Sitemap Plugin and use contact 7 for your contact page. Also download simple captucha so you wont get bombarded with spam.

Battra gave excellent instructions on your current challenge, but you should heed the advice of Justin.

If you are struggling with this you should simply start over with Wordpress and leverage plug-ins for these kinds of challenges. You'll get to the money-making step much faster.

Most of us have been around this block a few time--either we're that old and had to do it that way or we were in your shoes and started the hard way.

Just my simple 2 cents. But, sincerely trying to save you headaches in the future.

Are you using Wordpress? What Jason and Quentin suggested is the easiest way to create Google XML sitemap without having to upload anything.

Back to your question, I assume the instruction asks you to upload 'sitemap.xml' or 'sitemap.gz' file? You can upload the files using and FTP client like FileZilla.

    1. Run FileZilla
    2. Enter your website details: domain, username, password (this is your hosting username/password, not Wordpress username)
    3. Click 'Connect' (or Quick Connect)
    4. Once you are connected to your site, go to 'public_html' or 'www' folder by double-clicking the folder.
    5. Click-n-drag your file from local computer (left side panel) to your site (right-side panel)
    6. Disconnect once done

Is that what you are looking for?
