    Link farms are easy for Google to spot; since they all link to each other.

    A better way to go about it is Mini Sites. Make 5 or 6 small sites (or more) that are created around specific (but different) keywords on your main site. Then each of those sites links to your main site only. Not to each other.

    It would be good if they also linked to a few authority sites.
