When you guys build your micro niche sites what type of backlinking strategy do you use and how long does it usually take you too reach the first page of Google?

For me I use 50 profile back links 25 bookmark submissions and 10 directory submission all with anchor text back to my keyword. Usually takes me about 2-3 weeks to rank on the first page somewhere. After that I like to build 50 profile back links per month to keep boosting my rankings.

Curious to see what types of strategies you guys use and how effective they have been for you.

If you can get to the first page in 2-3 weeks, that's pretty impressive!

I build statistic backlinks until it gets index. Add some social bookmarking backlinks. (around 100-200) Then build some nice edu gov backlinks. If im not ranked google page 1 i simply build more backlinks.

I agree what you said because I am also using that strategy and it is really very effective. Blog commenting and article submission also is very powerful.

I think this is a very short term strategy that will not work long term. Without links from important destination pages (not just sites), this will fail in the mid to long term.

What type of important destination pages are you refering too? I'm mainly building 3-5 article micro niche sites not authority blog sites. Still curious to hear your strategy and interested in you critiquing why mine wont be sustainable over the long term.

One unknown strategy that I use is creating authority within my niche by pointing to high ranking niche related Websites. To do this I look up my keyword phrase on Alexa and review sites with high traffic rankings which I can point links too. Make sure these links are "blank" references so that the user gains the value of the page while leaving you available to return to. In the eyes of the user you become a valuable resource, in the eyes of the search engines you are more of an authority. Per page I generally build 3 such links within my site and put them near the bottom of the page so that it is my content that is gleaned first.

I just stay focused on one assignment at a time. Then when site has been ranked and sales start coming in.... I move on to another niche.

Most of our clients have acquired good results with our web 2.0 with customization method.

Basically what happens is that your site comes out stronger in ranking in the long run since the web 2.0 properties gets more link juice because there are many links pointing to it. Making your site benefit because you are not getting low quality links. When the web 2.0 properties gain PR your site also benefit. And the method is also cheap.

There are other way to get high quality of links but cost more. Like media buying so most of our clients prefer the web 2.0 for micro niche.

I personally use the same strategy for most every piece of content I put out there, including RSS feeds and submissions, social bookmarking, and syndicating the content from the original page/post out to articles directories, blog networks, doc sharing sites, videos sites, etc.

For new sites, I like to do about 100 BuildMyRank posts, one a day, for a mix of the main keywords on the site, then I mix in blog comments and some other article marketing as well - outsourcing most of the link building to people here on WF

I usually don't expect a site to hit page 1 for 2-3 months unless competition is weak

Also I found the comment about linking out to other sites to be pretty intriguing - I've had a few sites that I didn't build any links for right away, and instead wrote a bunch of blog posts that linked out to other web sites pages with good pagerank that have trackbacks, and that provided good results, kinda like reverse link building or something. I actually have one site where that is all that I've done (link to other high PR pages with trackbacks, it's usually other blogs or news sites) and it got a PR of 3 for the home page after about 6 months. It was an experiment but it worked good.

I do article distribution for all of my sites, old and new. For non-competitive keywords, results take maybe 1 or 2 weeks. Although consistency is an important factor for backlinks so even though the site might not seem to need additional quantity, I maintain a consistent flow of backlinks to maintain rankings and ward off competition.

Article submissions and guest blogging are great way to build stable back links on relevant sites. They also have the added benefit of boosting your online reputation and trustworthiness.

Personally, it comes down to the website, for example if it's a small micro niche website, then I'd probably be doing something similar to what you've been doing to your websites, while if it's a much larger website, that wouldn't be very effective, I'd probably go with article marketing and work on getting traffic.

I don't make 100s of backlinks at a time. First I list out some of the quality and relevant sites related to my niche on article and social media sites. Next search some popular forum and join at that for make backlinks. Next I try to make atleast one backlinks from .edu and .gov sites. It's required more than one month to collect such links. May be this strategy is little bit slow but my site get good PR and getting targeted traffic. I think Google prefer quality links than the quantity.

I'm just going to build his empire mini-sites, but read the article The Micro Mini site business model, is it dead or just harder? - Link Building Services - SEO Link building and was horrified.
Someone watched the fall of your mini site in the google?

My next strategy, I have not used it yet, but plan to do so:
I have a base of 500 sites (mostly forums) with a high PR, all of the above 4.
I plan on each site to put on 5-10 backlinks per day.
And in order for the 3 months I turned 500-800 links to your site.

      Someone has tried this strategy?
