Adwords and affiliate product targeting... whats the deal?

It seems that my ads are never approved when targeting affiliate stuff in adwords.

I have tried direct text ad to offer

i have tried text ad to redirect to offer

I have tried the same on image ads.

What's the deal? Why don't they approve the ads?

What is the "correct" way to promote an affiliate product with Google Adwords?

and why the hell does google think they have the right to make it complicated to advertise an affiliate product? what kind of sense does that really make?

Thanks in advance...

Chris

It could be simply the type of product. You can't advertise tobacco products (includes so-called e-cigarettes), weapons and anything to do with gambling. Here's the link to that list.

The other thing is, if others have tried to promote the same page, whether a permanent or temporary ban, it's so easy to check their list thus preventing any advertising for that page, no matter what you do.

I'm sure someone will say Google hates affiliates along the way. That is not true. The affiliate page still has to comply to their rules and guidelines. So the correct way is to make sure you promote affiliates that comply with them.

Don't think it's the product is it Chris?

It's not impossible to get an affliate link page to get approved with Adwords now (and MSN Adcenter as well), but it's REALLY tough. My wife has an ebook she sells online for recipes, and even that was declined!!!

I mean that is ridiculous when you are selling your own product. I've seen advertisers with MSN Adcenter getting screwed and declined selling THEIR OWN products too. Bizarre stuff going on in the PPC world.

Just try running PPC to an MFA landing page now.........

That's why my wife and I had to get cracking in November and start banging out more autoblogs, and more white hat blogs. Thanks to the autoblogs we have our income back up in the 7000 t0 8000 range again for Adsense and Chitika.

Maybe you will have to go natural.

I very rarely have problems getting my affiliate sites approved by the AdWords team. However, my sites / landing pages offer much more than a bunch of affiliate links.

Google's AdWords team looks for an interactive site that offers unique and HELPFUL content. I provide this via several methods: custom searches, RSS feeds, ratings plugins, etc.

If your landing page has any more than 2 or 3 affiliate links, you are probably going to have problems. Make sure you cloak your links and try to present your site as an ecommerce site rather than a product review / affiliate site.

Search the main forum for "Google hates you". I wrote up a nice piece in there earlier tonight that talks about these things.
