Can only go from my own experience and that is I submit lots of articles and also use some services for backlinks, I mainly focus on how competitive the keyword is to determine what my approach will be and then continuously busild backlinks to the site using the exact keywords as anchor text.

I dont mind doing blasts but i never ping them I let the crawlers find them naturally and I have never had a problem and have many many sites on first page of Google.

Just got one to position 5 after 6 weeks continous work (very competitive) went in at 38 then 26 then 18 then 11 yesterday #5 JOB DONE backlinks are the key

I've been staying away from the backlink packages mainly because most of what I've been taught has stressed the importance of making your link building look natural to Google. I guess it's just a matter of opinion - I ping, Squidoo, Twitter, write articles, and use OnlyWire.

Well if you are really trying to be aggressive about it, I would suggest at least 100 to even 1000 back links per week.

There doesn't seem to really be a way to send TOO many backlinks at the moment.

If you think about it, when a site goes viral it can end up getting tens of thousands of backlinks in just a few days. That doesn't seem to bother google any and neither will sending 10,000 + links to your site.

That being said, you always want link diversity. After a little while, getting thousands and thousands of back links every week from the same method will start to produce diminishing returns.

Mix it up and be persistent. Don't forget, sometimes just a couple backlinks from any top 50 site in your keyword can very well put you in the top 50 as well. If you manage to score any backlinks from any page 1 sites then that would be super valuable. Those are pretty coveted and hard to get though.

Also, keep this in mind:

A lot of experts agree that you cannot really gauge the full effect of a backlinking campaign for at least 3 months. You may see results before then, but not the FULL result. Be patient, but be persistent. Most good things take time.

It is really no definite answer I guess, there are million of keywords that behave differently to any certain method.

I always start with submitting articles to ezine and hubpages....one week later I will start doing blasts work well for me

For me there are no certain methods. If you want to start link building you can, if you want to write articles related to your site you can. Just be patient

Based on our experience you should not worry about how many links you acquire as long as you are getting quality links. In the long run your site comes out stronger.

Its also recommended to pay for linkbuilding services so that you can focus more on your business structure like researching for a niche and keywords and also building more profitable website.

Well I think making 10 quality links is more effective and worthy rather than 100 casual links. So don't focus on the quantity and pay your all attention on the quality. I prefer manual link building. It may be slower but very useful to maintain the quality of your site.

I would suggest that submit your site to directories and then bookmark the site. Must have an great content to submit in article directories.
