Some article backlinks not showing up in Yahoo Explorer

Hi everyone.

I just wanted to know what some people thought of this. I made backlinks maybe a month ago on articlebase and goarticles and they still haven't showed up on Yahoo link explorer. Do certain article directories take longer? The only backlinks I have showing from article directories are the ones from ezine. Maybe you guys can recommend good article directories to submit to? Thanks.

btw, I only care if google sees them to be honest.

Yahoo google bing and all the other search engines will never show you the exact amount of links. This is to protect their algorithm and how they rank sites on their search engines. I wouldnt worry about it personally.

Looks like the opposite is happening here: Question about backlinks
Makes me question the accuracy of that little tool. May not be the same situation. But seems like there a some questions that are consistent about Yahoo Link Explorer. Will keep watching and studying.

Yahoo Backlink Explorer is far from accurate. They will not show you all the links that are pointing to your site, neither is it important.

You just want to know that Google has indexed your backlink and that's easy. Just Google the URL of the article.

If it appears in the search results, you're good.

      Hmmm...

I have been using Unique Article Wizard for a few months now, and there are plenty of articles out there now with backlinks. By my reckoning, even if only 25% of them were published, there should be at least 700.

When I look at Yahoo Explorer, it shows about 450, NONE of which are any of the 700 or so articles I have out there.

I just tried your advice (which makes sense to me!) and Googled the URL's of the articles. While a few are OK, it seems like quite a few of them don't show up. Or, in some cases, they seem to lead to a different article site the the one I googled.

(I just tried to include an example of an article URL, but can't due to site rules as I haven't posted enough yet. Sigh).

Anyway, the example link I tried to include was posted on a web design articles site, and has been there since February 23rd. But but when you google that URL, it doesn't show up.

Does this mean the H-O-U-R-S I have put in doing this are wasted?

Geez, I don't mind working. But to have it go nowhere? Aaaagh!!

Are the pages indexed in Google, your GA and AB articles?

  • It just doesn't matter. You can expect to see even less information revealed.

Google is now doing so much user behavior cookie and geotargeting that knowing where your links are is making less of an impact.

Focus on what you can control.

Great, thanks for all the input guys. You all really helped me realize that Yahoo explorer is not as important as I had originally thought.

It will take quite a long time for your backlinks to show up.

You only get a few that will show up. It doesn't list 100% of your backlinks in Yahoo Explorer or Google.

No Search Engine will show you the exact number of backlinks you have coming to your site. You just get a rough estimate of the exact total. So I don't think there is any need to worry. Not even Google webmaster will show you the exact number of links. But that doesn't mean that they are not there.
