Page Rank?

Hi I am pretty new here.

I have gotten pretty decent SEO listings for the Key words that I have targeted, several #1 spots. But I cannot seem to get any page rankings both sites, they are sitting at a zero page rank after 6 months.

I had a professional group design (different then above) my main home page now and barely 2 months later it has a page rank of 1 already. But virtually no SEO #1's.

I guess I do not understand the PR like I thought I did??
#search engine optimization #page #rank
  • PR mainly comes from backlinks, namely the type/quality/source.
  • backlinks are the main keys for PR
  • Link on high PR sites it can really provide great result to your campaign. PR can make your site looks credible in the eye of search engines the high PR the better.
  • Hello,I think Page Rank is a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web. Google figures that when one page links to another page, it is effectively casting a vote for the other page.

    • Yes, as mentioned in above posts getting a backlinks from high PR sites will help you on increasing your PR. Always keep on increasing your link popularity.
  • The PR is also dependent on how many outgoing links the website points out. If the backlink source links out to too many pages, the link juice split.

BTW, don't be too obsessed about the PR. Very often, zero PR sites can outrank high-PR sites.
  • We have a lesson about PageRank on our website. If you would care to check it out, here's the link:

    • PageRank is a probability distribution for the possibility that a person randomly clicking on the link will arrive at any particular page. PageRank calculation, can collect files of any size.

  • Ok this is the thing, you want to increase your site's pagerank right? It depends on the level of competency of the keyword that you are using. Even if you get good quality backlinks, if the level of competency is too high, you will still find a hard time to increase your site's rankings. If that's the case, you have to work harder to rank, exert extra effort and be patient.
  • create quality backlink and post unique content on you site. this is very effective.
but i didn't see any PR changes from may 2010 update.
  • The PageRank score shown in in toolbars is not the same thing as the PageRank score Google actually uses when scoring your page. "Toolbar PageRank" only gets updated once in a while, and there are doubts as to it's accuracy (some people thing Google fudges it to make it harder to figure out how successful attempts to game the system are). Actual PageRank scores are updated constantly. You may find that one day when Google updates Toolbar PageRank, all your pages are suddenly up above zero.
