Hi guys. Just a quick one, and probably back to basics. I notcie google often ranks pages within folders of websites and highlights those folders with the search term typed.

So I want to know what would be more effective. Say for example, I have a website in which I give away metal. My website is free-metal.com but, I've found a great niche in metal detectors. Can I effectively use free-metal.com/detectors. I then find out there a huge Market in ingots. I've got bags of them to give away, so, free-metal.com/ingots etc etc

Would these rank better than say, detectors.free-metal.com, or ingot.free-metal.com. Ive seen that google does search right into the domain subfolders quite effectively, and it keeps the keywords on the right order.

Cheers for looking

Just make sure you use different meta settings on that page! Use meta settings for each page to get Google ranking your pages in the search results.

    So:
    #1. Homepage
    Meta keywords: Free, Metal
    Meta Description: Get free metal!

    #2. Metal Detectors
    Meta keywords: Metal, Detectors
Meta Description: Get the best metal detectors.

Now google will show up as following (after a while)
Free Metal.com - Get free metal!
    - Metal detectors - get the best metal detectors
    - Ingots etc.

    Great advise. Thanks frank

I guess these meta settings would be for the index
Page of each subfolder. Free-metal.com/detectors/index.HTML (with the index.HTML part not hidden by default)
