Hi Guys and Gals

I have a potenial client that is having a new website built by someone else and wants me to do the the seo work, its quite funny how we got in touch as he does the accounts for another company i do seo for and had seen there books and is very impressed with my work and profit increase, but he has someone else building his new website and wants me to local seo and then national seo in the UK, but i am a little stuck on how i should go about this, i have never had this put on me and was wondering should i optimise his homepage for the city we are in, even though i know thats going to change to national words in 3 - 4 months time, can anyone help me with how i would go about this, best practices for it?

Would i just go after the city with a internal optimised page?

Regards

Well I guess you can put your city whatever products/services keyword for local and UK whatever product keywords for nation wide.

And of course you can add a Google map for your clients as well.

Why not sit down with the client and find out their expectations? What is their industry, local services, national distribution? Find out how they should be found, then figure out which keywords are going to drive the most volume of traffic. It's just a numbers game.

      Hi Jez,
i've had success with something as simple as putting the company address in the footer - it shows up on every page and does not badly affect national SEO
