90 Day SEO Challenge - #1 Ranking Using Only Fiverr.com?

This challenge should help you guys learn a bit about seo and how to rank your sites for your target keywords.

I am implementing a little twist to this by restricting myself to ONLY using fiverr.com for link building. I'll make updates to this thread as much as possible throughout the 90 days or until I hit #1.

My target keyword for #1 ranking is: make money with google

Challenge: Within 90 Days, I will rank #1 for the term "make money with google" using only fiverr.com for link building.

URL: I'll be creating a new post on my personal blog so you can see from scratch how I do this.
(update! new page created Make Money With Google - Important Steps!

Competition: There is currently 47,600,000 competing pages on google for the broad results of "make money with google".

Notes: I am shooting for the BROAD keyword and a #1 ranking. I understand that this is a long shot to hit within 90 days - Especially starting from scratch and using a website that is only a couple months old. However, I intend to stick with this until I hit my goal, regardless if I go past the 90 day mark.

Why I chose this keyword? This is exactly the type of person I want reading my personal blog - someone who is looking for ways to make money with google/adsense. My goal is to capture this traffic onto my list and eventually sell them high end coaching products.

I'll be doing quite a bit of experimenting too. I am going to test a lot of different types of link building providers at fiverr and will share my results so you can also utilize the best providers.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Take care,

-David

Ranking: N/A

Actions Completed:

I hired a writer at fiverr to create the content article for my new post.
Here is the gig I used...
http:// www. fiverr .com/users/kapsco1/gigs/write-two-400-plus-word-latent-semantic-indexing-articles-which-are-100-percent-unique

I requested 1 article to be written instead of 2 x 400 word articles as described in the gig. I believe google will prefer the longer content.

Here is what I gave the provider as instructions:

=============

Please write one 800+ word article based on this keyword - "make money with google"

Additional keywords to work into content if possible...

[adsense]
[google adwords]
[google adsense]
[how to make money]
[make money online]
[how to make money fast]
[ways to make money]
[make money]
[google ads]

Here is an example article:

=============

Ranking: N/A

Actions Completed:

1) I created the post on my blog that I will be working to rank...
make money with google

I intended to use an article from the fiver gig in update 1 (above)... but it was not good at all, I had to re-write 90% of it and even delete a big chunk of it just to get it to make sense.

I am going to NOT recommend this provider for blog content. The reviews were very high so I was shocked at the poor quality of the article.

2) I ordered 50 social bookmarks and also 2 articles to be written and submitted to ezinearticles.
Here's the gigs:

krh83: I will submit your website to atleast 50 social bookmarking site for $5 at Fiverr.com

Fiverr
(I know this is the same provider I did NOT recommend above, but this is strictly for link juice, so content quality is not as important)

These two gigs should help get my post on the map with google

Ranking: N/A

(My new page has been indexed though, so that is progress!
If I type in "make money with google important" then my site is listed in the results.)

Actions Completed/Results:

The bookmarking gig above was done quickly and I believe resulted in my new page getting indexed right away.

The ezinearticles gig from above was finished and articles are good quality but I do not believe ezinearticles has picked up the articles. This is the second time I have ordered an article plus ezinearticles submission and have only received the articles and no proof that ezinearticles has picked it up and it's live. Will be sending a follow up message to this provider... if they are platinum account, it should be live very quickly, no?!

Now that the new post is indexed, I also ordered two article marketing gigs to start building a steady flow of backlinks... Here are the new gigs ordered:

octars: I will submit your article to my UAW unique article wizard and article cartel accounts for $5 at Fiverr.com (UAW Submission)

Fiverr (AMR Submission)

Ranking: N/A

I've been checking the top 500 results using scroogle.org and I am no where in site.
My on page seo is right on. My links are steadily building. Just need more time. Plus, I am thinking I need to mix in some social media links - i.e. twitter. Going to create an account and connect to my site.

Actions Completed/Results:

I ordered two more gigs from fiverr...

codeseo: I will provide 10,000 live backlinks for $5 at Fiverr.com

and

Ranking without quotes: N/A

Ranking with quotes: #25 (scroogle.org)

Actions Completed/Results:

I have a bit of an update: I am no where on the board yet for my primary term without quotes but my term WITH "quotes" around it, I am #25 when I check scroogle.org

This is a good sign. I think my links just need time to stick and be found by google.

From my experience, it can take 2 to 3 months for google to reward you for your efforts. So I am just being patient and working on using a variety of linking methods... articles, social bookmarking, profile links, blog comments and very soon I will add video links to the mix.

If you have any recommended fiverr providers, let me know!

Ranking: 26!!!! (I am finally on the board

Actions Completed/Results:

I few days ago I ordered a twitter gig, not for traffic but just for google's robot's sake.
I have other sites that are linked to twitter accounts and they get CRAZY robot hits.
I thought it couldn't hurt and what do you know... I am finally showing up for my term.
Coincidence? I don't think so. I had built plenty of links right off the bat - then I let google know that my site is a "hot" topic by having it mentioned on twitter. The search engines go crazy over twitter and I used it to my advantage!

http://www.fiverr.com/users/twitterg...s-for-2-months

Feels good to finally be "in the race".
Now let's see how long it will take me to move onto page 2.

Ranking: 19!!!! Hit page two for the first time finally.

Actions Completed/Results:

Been a bit lazy on this challenge and only ordered 1 new gig in the last month...
http://www.fiverr.com/users/portron/...cklink-pyramid

Bounced around a lot after this order but have now just appeared on page two for the first time.

Just remember everyone that their is no "magic" gig that will boost you.
I think it's simply a matter of variety and consistency. Plus great on page seo of course!

    • Right now I am waiting on the content from the fiverr gig. Also looking at other providers there for link building...

You guys have any favorite providers you use for linkbuilding at fiverr?

      More soon...

    • Yeah right. Using Fiverr would mean that using gigs from fiverr ? But using the regular SEO techniques? Is that what you mean?

  • Thread subscribed. I'm planning to use Fiverr for my SEO as well. The toughest part will be finding reliable sellers.
    • [1] reply
    • I have a few gigs on there, one is for article writing, and I have had to turn people down when I don't have time. Fiverr has made me quite a bit of money outside of it. There are many reliable sellers.
  • That's really an ambitious challenge...
  • Great challenge, onw which will grab a lot of people's interst. Even if you dont make it by 90 days, or even to Page One, you will be able to test service providers and report back on the good, bad and otherwise. Looking forward to hearing of some new ideas, and hopefully your success!
  • Goodluck, I Hope you can do it!!
  • Great challenge, I subscribed to this topic
  • Great challenge! Keep us posted, I am interested in seeing how you go.It would be interesting to see if your sellers from fiverr can deliver the products. If you find good content and backlink providers, please let me know
  • Hi David,

I never know I can hire some good people at Fiverr for Articles. Thanks for the insight.

With the article at your site, your onsite link is not proper. Instead of having one anchor text as "making money with Google", you have two anchor texts as "making money" and "with Google".

You did any rewrite with the article you got from the writer?
    • [2] replies
    • This will be a great study. Looking forward to see the results.
    • So far I am finding out that that providers at fiverr are great for link building and small programming jobs but not very good for quality (native english) writing.

      P.S.

New Update, check the first post!

      Thanks everyone.

  • I actually found the Fiverr you didn't recommend did a good job on my articles. Wasn't perfect, but the articles had some of the best sentence structure I have seen in awhile. I am pretty picky, so overall, I was satisfied with his services and would recommend him.
    • [1] reply
    • Yea, for article marketing and building links, I think it would be fine. But for an actual post on a blog where you want really high quality content, I had to pass it up.

If anyone has found good native english writers on fiver, let me know.

  • This is a great idea. I am very curious if you can pull this off with just Fiverr! I have had mixed results with Fiverr... some crappy stuff and some excellent stuff.

I wish I could fast forward 90 days and see what happens... guess I will just have to subscribe and keep checking in.
  • If this works you are a god.
  • Looking forward to updates and mainly good resources from Feverr. I'm always looking for good outsourcers.

    Good luck!
  • Great action. I will support you. Have a good rank.
  • I will be very interested to see your results and also to get recommendations of providers. I recently started using Fiverr a little bit, I kept hearing people talking about it and finally decided to give it a shot. I'm now working on a system to help make sure the links from the jobs I order get indexed (I'm not satisfied with just pinging them).

I wouldn't have thought to try Fiverr for the actual content - might be something worth exploring more.

    Subscribing to this thread!
  • should be cake. 4 letter phrase -> easy, regardless what niche. Much luck.
  • good luck with it... i am looking for some cool fiverr gigs to use... so let me know if you come up with any good providers !!
  • why you restrict yourself to fiverr..i dont know..
  • How long would it take to do this for free?
  • Interested and eager to see the results...currently a pr 5 page is on top.Lets see if your new page pushes it down the rankings.

That's a great piece of step by step study, I think it is very much helpful and reasonable to the content that every newbie looks forward.
  • David,

I'm pulling for ya!!!! This is quite a challenge. I'm delving into the world of mini/micro-sites and getting them indexed, ranked for competitive keywords, and loaded with backlinks are tasks I am not looking forward to. But following your challenge is giving me inspiration and also a system to use that I can make my own with a little tweaking and substitutions.

    Good luck,

    Iris
  • Good luck David

    Linhuck

PS Sifting through the rubbish on fiverr is quite frustrating, but you know there's quality on there.
  • it sounds good i will give it a try hope i will get better result.
  • I want to see your previous thread so i can understand it from start.
  • Hey David, how's the fiverr challenge coming along?
  • Banned
currently, I'm only using fiverr for my SEO campaigns and I'm getting consitent #1 rankings on Google for highly competitive terms within 2 weeks and spending less than $50 too, I don't know why yours is taking so much time, maybe.... you are not buying the right gigs or what? One of my keywords gets 90,000 monthly local searches in broad and 53,200 in exact match and I ranked #1 for it in less than 1 week using only fiverr gigs for SEO and once again spending less than $50, just so if you want to know, the domain name is brand new and I just bought it this year's January and till now, I'm still #1 for the keyword.

    • care to share which fiverr gigs did you use and pay only $50 and get #1?!
    • Competition level could be different in different niches.

  • Good challenge for a person to tackle as an SEO experiment to get to page one
  • This is a good topic for which I am happy to subscribe too! I know 90 days is a short period of time, and I do believe it can be done(the results). My problem with with Fiverr is finding good workers, anyone care to share their contacts? PM me if you want to.
    • [7] replies
    • I'm agreeing with you on this one...finding any quality of Fiverr is not a simple task and could even be counter productive in my opinion...

This might be fine for micro sites, but I personally can't see this happening in 90 or beyond using Fiverr exclusively...

But like everyone else, I would also be open to any good contacts that other people may have acquired from Fiverr.

      Thx,

      Bobby
    • Is sound great, did finished yet?
    • Nice challenge, i am interested in seeing all the steps for every new idea, and hopefully the results as a succes!!

Did you find something bad or negative on this challenge?¿

Looking forward to hearing of some new ideas
    • This is really an interesting challenge. waiting to know how it goes at the end of the 90 days.
    • Nice going keep up the good work. this is a great challenge.

    • good thread this, i use fiverr but only for link building as in link pyramids but only recently...
    • I believe most things are possible in life if you set your mind to it and this is certainly a very ambitious challenge you've set yourself through fiverr!

      Best of Luck

    • You know, I've been watching over this forum for a few years now and I've come to learn a few important things. First of which is those who push themselves using a thread challenge typically get amazing results. Why? Because of all the persistence and help the other members provided. Second is that even if they don't succeed, they are praised for their efforts and valuable information provided to all of the other struggling IM'ers.

I believe you will succeed in your quest and more importantly you will inspire others to match your success. I look forward to future posts on your success.

  • Any new updates??? Interesting posts here. Thanks!
  • On the bright side you bought me to the attention of fiverr cheers
  • Interesting thread, I will keep a close eye on this. If you get #1 i might end up trying fiverr my self and i am sure many others will too
  • This is really interesting. I'll keep watching.
  • Very interesting idea, I'll be watching.

One request. Could you add to your updates the amount you've spent on fiverr thus far? Like maybe do
    Current Rank #100
    Total Spent $55

Good luck man, I'll be rooting for you!
  • Great challenge! As they say, shoot for the moon ... I'm all for it. Can't wait to see how close you are to your "moon" in the end.
  • I hope you get success with this strategy.

Btw, I am the admin of a fiverr clone, (dot)com where all the gigs are being offered at 4 dollar ($1 cheaper than fiverr) so if anyone interest please use my site.

    Thanks!!!
  • update!

I am finally showing up for my term (#26). This coincided with a twitter gig I recently ordered. Interesting coincicence. See my first post for details.
  • i like fiverr personally. I use it often for my site, BUT you have to really ask questions and read other comments of past customers. a search for SEO will yield many options. what i usually do is send a message to the seller of the gig that i am interested in their service and that I have bigger budget than just 5 bucks, what else do they offer? that can lead to other gigs that cost more, maybe 30-50 bucks, BUT they are much better gigs and valued better than a 5 buck gig.

fiverr is awesome, hope this work for you, but let us know how much you are spending in all of this.
    • [1] reply
    • I have had a couple requests for how much I have spent on fiverr to get my site ranking....
I'll start including this in the updates.

      So far I have purchased a total of 8 gigs: 8 x $5 = $40

  • Fiverr is indeed a great platform but people have started expecting too much for $5 and the quality of SEO is declining significantly as a result. However its great too see that things are working well for you
  • You inspired me to take a look at Fiverr for my SEO needs. Backlinking is suuuuch a drag. Sure, quality is an issue, but on the other hand, how wrong can things go with article blasts and that kind of thing?

So, so far I have done (using Fiverr sellers):

    - A limited AMR blast to some 200 article directories, the ones with better pagerank. Forgot to use a unique pen-name so couldn't determine how many of those are indexed right now
    - Another AMR blast, but to 1200 directories, with about 400 approved, and about 100 indexed that I know of (though currently Google is only showing 24 - wonder if that is a duplicate/spun content thing)
    - A 400-site blog network blast. Nice list of articles on very low-quality blogs received back but absolutely NONE indexed.

Also, the first blast seemed to have the most effect. Either that was the best gig (a seller called seo_lasvegas, something like that) or this is the law of diminishing returns at work on using purely article-based promotion. Anyway, I am at no. 15 now, so will try some different tactics and see how I get on.

    Thanks for the inspiration
  • Looks like a great challenge. I think you will be able to do it! Good luck.
  • There's no wrong in aiming for a decent ranking of your keyword. This really inspire me.
  • Great idea of using Fiverr.
By the end of the challenge, how much do you think you would have spent getting to the #1 spot?
  • Great challenge, Best wishes and I hope he can easily do it. Nothing is imposible in the world.
  • I'm also currently using 2 fiverr gigs on my 2 brand new sites..let see how it goes :-)
  • War Room members can get the Killer Fiverr Gigs by Devid Farah. He lists out all of the (supposed) best Fiverr gigs in a PDF ebook. I looked at it briefly but havent tried any of his suggestions. But he does list a lot of them and I think it could be helpful.
  • Ok, this is a pretty effin cool idea! I've had a few whiskeys tonight but if it still seems like a good idea in the morning I'm going to join you in the race. Not for the same keyword of course! But something similar in terms of keyword results/monetary value... I've got a few fiverr dollars floating around from previous gigs and I think you might be on to something here (or maybe not!). Either way, cool idea and best of luck!

Also, do you have any info from analytics or anything on how much traffic you've gotten so far and how much is from your targeted keywords? Are you ranking anywhere for any other keywords?
  • Just checked and it looks like you're ranking #20 now..slowly but surely moving up!
    • [1] reply
    • #20? sounds good

The highest I have seen it is 26th spot.

I just ordered a new gig at fiverr. Will do a new update soon.

  • If we are going to make bets, then I bet that you will fail. No offense

    • Yea, I'm highly interested to see the results of this Challenge as well being a Fiverr user myself. Sounds like everyone's had a similar experience to my own:

Bought several gigs and had maybe one or two work with positive results, if that.

I would definitely be interested in sharing good gigs with others who've had success.
  • Wish the best of luck to you but personally I don't think it's possible. Fiverr is great for the price but it can only go so far. With fiverr you will never get unique links because so many people are using it and so you get the same type of links everyone else. Good for lower competitive words but I think that keyword will be to hard. Maybe after the 90 day challenge you can start using other strategies and try to get the links you built indexed and that will help.

Hopefully you can prove all us doubters wrong though but even if you did make it I can't see a site with nothing but spammy links lasting #1 very long.

    • Just thought I'd let you know here in Missouri this morning your page is sitting at position #33 and at #19 in quotes.

Matt is at position #21 and #16 in quotes.

You seem to be doing well for about 6 weeks of time.
  • Inspired by this post, I have recently achieved a page one ranking for a site (#10 but rising steadily) based MOSTLY on Fiverr gigs - I won't say entirely, by any means, but it took a lot of the grind out of it for me. I used the following gigs (sorry, can't share the exact suppliers - just try some out yourself):

    - 2 x AMR blasts with one guy, for at least 200 indexed backlinks each blast - nice job that. One of the blasts wasn't even spun - couldn't be bothered.
    - 1 x AMR blasts with another guy whose blast gave me less links (about 70 indexed) even though it was submitted to more directories - figure that out.
    - 1 x 25 UK web directory submissions - that one is still going through, I bet I get a very poor acceptance rate with that, those directories don't like microniche sites, but I am targetting UK Google, so every little helps.
    - 1 x 400 private blog network blast. USELESS, the blog network was totally valueless, just mindless cloned blogs with zero PR and stupid domain names You can't win 'em all! 2 articles indexed, that I could find!!

I think this stuff helped a lot, it was $25 worth spending to get some of the SEO load off, but I should point out that I did other things too:

    - built several web 2.0 'buffer' properties to which I pointed a lot of my outsourced links (though I direct-linked to my money site too)
    - collected all the known links created through the Fiverr gigs (some 1200) and pasted them into Linklicious.me (free account) to help indexing
    - pinged them with various other tools too.
    - some idle backlinking of my own, very low volume, manual blog comments, a few directory submissions, nothing to write home about.
    - oh yeah, and a couple of 'blasts' via Free Traffic System. Not really sure about that one, it's only 30 sites per blast. Every little helps, mind.

But I can say that Fiverr was a big help, will be interested to see if you can get it ALL done (and the no. 1 slot!) using Fiverr!

P.S. I should add that I only use 'white-hat' SEO methods (if there is such a thing) - that's why I didn't buy any comment spamming or profile links gigs. So I have made things harder for myself, maybe, but I think I am getting there.
    • [1] reply
    • The OP is sharing the gigs...why can't you do the same? I am sure you benefited from the OP's gigs...Some people like to be helped, but do not like to help....

  • That is really interesting how you utilized fivvr entirely. Thanks for the info, I may use some of these resources.
  • #13 on my search. Very interesting challenge. Will be following it along as well.
  • Nothing is impossible, I think you can do. Bcz we guys get a #1 rank with in 12 days with high competitor "13,23,0000".
    Best of luck!!
  • I can't find you on first 5 pages of google may be you lost or now you are not working towards your goal.
    Anyways nobody can challenge google.
  • I'm almost inclined to think it's cheaper to buy gigs. I've been very happy with several I've bought.

When I think back to all the software I've tried, not just the cost but the time learning. I'd have been far better to have bought 500 fiver gigs. 10 gigs per site - 50 sites. $2,500. I've probably spent that over the last year and I'm practically nowhere - but I own a lot of good stuff (on the shelf).
    • [2] replies
    • You got a good point.

I too have spend at least 2 grand in various IM/SEO tools.

at the end of the day is a lot of work to get these tools running. You still have to write a ton, because you want to spin original content. You need at least a week to learn the software. Sometimes they are buggy too.

I am not knocking none of the software. most of them do what they are suppose to do. But if you invest in gigs, at least you will free a bunch of your time. I understand some of the gigs will not pan out, but at the end of the day, you are able to concentrate solely on your on page and perhaps some buffers sites.

Plus, with most of the softwares, if you are creating a lot of properties, you have to invest in Proxys and VPN's and there goes more money and more setting up to do...
    • Of course, just buying the software or service won't help much unless you use it properly.
  • That sounds interesting, would be waiting for the final outcome. Goodluck......
  • Interesting read thanks for sharing.

  • Would love to see how the challenge turn out... I'm testing out some Fiverr gigs at the moment. They are really a hit and miss. I've yet to find a decent Twitter gig but for $5 I suppose I can't expect much. Probably better to go for other type of gig there.
