For SEO benefit, 1 1000-word article, 2 500-word articles, or 3 300-word articles? And why?

Obviously the more content, the better, but to start with, a single long article or several articles published every few days?

Just looking for some differences of opinion on the matter...Thanks.

Good question, but I believe 3 300 word articles would be best. The reason I think that is because you can target 3 separate long tail keywords for your article. You can get triple the amount of traffic, more back links, and you have more of an overall reach.

A 1,000 word article might lose people. Some people are lazy, and don't want to read much.

I think the best thing to do would be, test it out and see what gets you better results!

  That is a good question. I'm not sure what I would do there. Couldn't you target the single keyword phrase, but target other longer tail keywords as well for maximum benefit? I think I would still stay with 3 300 word articles, possibly 2 500 word articles.

I usually only target 1 keyword per page, but yea I suppose if there were longer keyword phrases that built off the root one then that'd be good.

Good question. I often wonder the same thing myself when I am half way through my two thousand word review posts. Has anyone ever experimented and seen different results?

Some info about on-page text & seo.

I rank pages with less than 10 words in the SERPs with very few problems, 1,000 word article on a single page is a bit overkill.

If you structure your site in a better way, you could easily get 5+ pages from that single 1,000 word article.

The 5+ pages from a single article makes it 100 times easier to target more long-tail keywords.

Not to mention you will get multiple listings in the SERPs (per keyword) If you structure your internal linking correct, all this with very little work once the site is setup.
