7 Figures to 5 figures overnight

I think the most important lesson to be learned from the most recent Google algorithm changes, is to never ever ever base your entire online business on something you have no control over. Control is everything. I do serious amounts of SEO tracking and there are some big sites seriously hurting right now. Just look at ezinearticles for example. Over 75% of their rankings have dropped at least 30 spots or more. The owner of the site make a nice little chunk of change over the past few years, but it's practically worthless now. Just something to think about ...

(And yes, Google isn't only crushing rankings for sites with mostly crappy or duplicate content like ezinearticles, they are also almost completely devaluing all links from such sites)

Ezinearticles will be just fine. You seem to forget that google has also been benefiting from them as well.

If they went from 7 figures to 5 figures, think about how much google lost doing that as well?

Now... about those links being devalued, I don't think so.

I wish I had a "practically worthless" site like that

They said they would be implementing that, can you confirm if the resource box, indeed is nofollow now?

I believe there is still value in nofollow links.

I don't see any nofollow links in the resource boxes, do you?

From 7 figures to 5 figures overnight.

That basically explains what just happened to ezine articles.

They will be fine, yes, but they won't be doing near what they were before.

I and many others will likely not even bother with ezine articles now.

It takes a week to get approved for a no-follow backlink that you can get ANYWHERE else? yeah.. (i heard the rumor.. it they might go nofollow?)

Most SEO's are going to drop it. Their ranks dropped, their traffic will drop huge in the next month or two. Too bad for them, but never put all your eggs in one basket as an internet marketer.

My own pages seem to have IMPROVED in ranks from this change. But I dont rely solely on ezinearticles or any one particular site or type of backlink.

They haven't made the switch yet. They posted in their blog that they were contemplating going no-follow in the resource box.

I am not sure where all this talk about sites basically being worthless from the new changes at google. Not to mention what all this crap is about eza getting basicaly put out of business. For that is all it is is crap. With these new changes to google my sites have all most all increased in rankings and have just about doubled in visitors from the changes.

As far as eza goes and you saying they are loosing rankings this is hog wash for my eza articles are getting more traffic then ever. So this is not the death to anything but the rise of those who stand to do things properly the first time around and stop spreading the crap spun articles. Use unique articles first on your site then on the article sites like eza. There is no need to spin it using any spinning tool for all it does is devalue the article itself and hurt you and your site in the long run. Simply because the article now reads like it was written by a 3 year old.

So because you stooped to measures of using this crap content it is your own fault and no one elses so get over it and stop crying. While those who have actually put real work into their sites are finally making a presence in the serps for their content. So yes googles changes where a good thing and I have to say it is about time.

If you think I'm wrong, do some research or start tracking ezinearticles rankings yourself. I track over 50,000 pages on their site and like I said over 75% of these most popular articles have lost OVER 30 positions or more in Google. Sounds like I hit a nerve with a few people ... but that's the truth. I don't do article marketing or even use ezinearticles in any way so I have nothing to gain or lose either way ...
