Manual Directory Submission is this any good for traffic ?

Hi guys,
I`m doing a little experiment with a new site of mine which is to see how much traffic i can send to it without the use of the organic searches.

I`ve been getting articles left right and center and social bookmarking !

I was just wondering if quality manual Directory submissions would be worth going after also ? I`ll be truthful i`ve never really been interested in them for backlinks but for traffic ???

What do you guys think ??

    You can still get links that are actually indexed from link directories, but traffic, almost never.

    Maybe directory submission is dead(just for you guys!), but the fact that it can still generate backlinks for your site can never be denied. And we all know that backlinks help our site to rank, whether you like it or not, free directory submission is still part of backlinking campaign. But its up to you if you don't want to use it.

    I second that. Zip, zero, zilch, nada. No traffic, no link juice, no anything. Save some time, create contnent instead. If anyone can show me directory traffic from their Analytics account, then I'll promote directories daily for a month.
