What adsense factors do you check before you give a niche/keyword a go and start building a site?

Min cpc?
Number of advertisers in google serps for a given kw?
Google traffic estimator stats, ...?
Or do you not care and just start building?

    I used to mostly just enter my keywords into SpyFu and see what stats came out (CPCs, number of advertisers).

    Always found that handy, but do bear in mind that the figures you get back are for ads on Google itself (the sponsored links, when you run a search) - not ads on the content network (AdSense), for which CPCs and the like are often very different.
