How Big is Your ?

I wanted to throw something out here as I haven't seen it discussed before.

What size and type of font do you use on your websites and why do you use it?

Do you mix it up? Keep it the same.

I have been mixing up between 12px and 16px and cannot decide on what I think the reader would like. Because I am not fussed on size when I read doesn't mean others think this way. DO you prefer the smaller or in your face font size?

13px

12 is too small, especially on IE9. Otherwise i would use 12. 13 looks good.

Use pt or em instead of px. If your visitor requires a larger font they can resize it properly. A px is a set size. I believe it also works better with a systems anti-alias/cleartype settings.

I usually use around a 10pt I think.

I use Arial 14px. I think it looks good.

  13px Arial is a good reading size. That's why I usually use 12. I also use something less than black as the color. I want the text a LITTLE hard to read (but not enough to annoy) so the eye is drawn to the ads (blue links, black text).

I usually do 14 in Trebuchet for my premium sites and clients' sites, just like how it looks.
