Google Update? Make Money Now! No Excuses!

If you haven't read, Google Pushed out a new update that punishes sites with poor content, auto blogs, spammy sites, etc. Article Directories in particular are being hit hard by this update. Ezinearticles for example could possibly see half of their traffic cut by the end of this month.

So what does this mean? Think about how many Ezine articles, goarticle, and other article directories have their content ranked in the top 5 for keywords? Thousands! Think about how many of those are now not in the top 5?

This is prime time now to compete against keywords where these sites have lost their top perch! Start doing keyword research because there is a ton of keywords ripe for the picking.

Start buying domain names for the keywords and create some landing pages for products where you can reap the rewards of this unlocked traffic.

Get on the backlink train and goodluck!

    I've heard about this recently.

Google is trying to "make sure there are legitimate sites" for browsers.
To a certain extent I understand, when I'm browsing for some info and I keep getting half ass shotty sites with no info and content that is comparable to a 5 year old it's incredibly frustrating.

But what about auto blogs that have solid content? I've spent time before writing good quality original articles and then setting up a drip feed on some sites. (granted this was before I got into outsourcing and some other tools to speed up the process) But would this be included?

I'm eager to hear others thoughts and feelings on this.

I'm down to get rid of crap but I think some decent sites, like ezinearticles.com will take a hit. Even though there is some crap out there, there's a ton of great stuff on ezine an I think that should out weigh the terrible.

    Ryan,
As far as I can tell, if you have original content, you should be good.

If you have great original content, you have nothing to worry about, it's all the spam, PLR copy, etc that is gonna take a hit.

I'm sure anyone who was using an auto blog that either drops unspinned PLR or scrapes other sites it's going to take a big hit.

I, personally, have been pleasantly surprised by the results of this "slap."

Several blogs that I haven't been able to get higher than #4 or #5 for certain keywords are now #1.

I've also hit spot #1 rather quickly with a new blog.

...unqiue, quality content is king now -- moreso than ever.

I've seen a nice bump on two of my blogs where I sell affiliate products. Not #1, but top 5 now. Very happy.

I can't really see why a well written, original Ezine article would lose it's ranking.
