Either one is good, i'd go for pages though.

Generally everything Mark Ling says is gold, so follow closely.

    Affiloblueprint is a top product.

    Cheers,
    Dave

  • The biggest difference between Posts and Pages is this: Posts are social media instruments, Pages aren’t.

The WordPress Post is the tool you’ll be using within your blog to engage readers. Posts are what everyone on Twitter and Facebook are sharing.

Pages are static web-pages within your blog for permenent content, like an About Page, a Donation Page or a Services Page.

This is a very well said explanation. Every tool or application has its distinct usage and purpose. So better decide for which fits/ applied for the best.

Both have same value. You can go with Page or post.

The advantage of using posts is that you can categorise them which will be included in your custom permalink structure which adds an extra keyword or keywords to your unique URL. Therefore it tells the search engines specifically what your post is about. Why would you have a blog just for pages?
I'm not sure you have recieved the best advice if someone tells you to use pages only. Google does judge pages and posts differently

Wordpress Posts are better than pages because there is more option available to optimize posts and promotion such as tags, categories, through some plugins etc.

It can make a huge difference, depending on how your theme treats posts vs pages. See this post for point by point answers:

Posts, you can tag them and also apply categories.

If you use related tags, sometimes the posts can rank for the keyword used in the tag also. If you use pages you miss out on potential rankings.

Usually i only use pages for contact us, terms, privacy etc. and IF i have one single, static front page.

But because of the way sites are structured under ABP pages do work best this time, especially if you are using the ABP theme as it is not set up for posts.

Remember you are setting up a static site, rather than a blog, we just use WP for it's ease and google love!
