A tag cloud would help your blog with more search queries. It is really a good idea to add tag cloud with possible keyword searches in a blog.

as for me, tag cloud helps a lot.. as you can see on most of my blogs, there are tags there that look like tags but are not. I sometimes slip in some links in there so that I can give out links to my other blogs without being a bit intrusive. sometimes I also do slip in affiliate links there too

    Hi,

Tag Clouds can be useful in guiding people to specific pages. I have a tag cloud on one of my HTML sites (not a blog), and manually adjust tags to pages that I want people to visit - could be a new page; or have a special offer, whatever.

    Best,

    Vic

Tag clouds have never helped me in the slightest, they have only diluted the theme of the page. I like to keep things old school with a basic link structure throughout each site I build, simple but effective.

I routinely get tags and categories indexed and ranked. So use tags in all ways you can.

Tag cloud doesn't support SEO features! So although it may seem impressive but its not that seo friendly

As long as the tag cloud isn't javascript or flash, Google should not have a problem reading the cloud.

Depends what kind of tag cloud you are referring to, and to what aim you are using it.

It can be used primarily for the search engines, or as a useful way to guide site visitors.

Checking stats on my blogs I can see that tags do get indexed by G, indeed well ranked. But that is also because of the content and structure of the site.

On the non-blog sites I use a tag cloud on, again it helps the search engines, but also I'm able to push visitors to some areas of my site.

Like any tool, it is how you choose to use it.

I think a tag cloud can be fun for users sometimes but is not a good SEO practice anymore.

My experiences are different. On the sites that I have tag clouds, I've found that I've been able to direct traffic to the arts of the site I want, with those areas getting indexed well on the search engines.

Like everything, it's how you chose to implement a tag cloud.
