Huh? All the SE's say I have no backlinks at all, why?

My muscle product review site has been up for a month now. I've been doing some link building work on it through various blog comments, guest posts, web 2.0 article submissions, bookmarking and even rss submissions.

Yet, my site is not ranking and apparently there aren't any back-links pointing back to it.

Does anyone have an explanation for this? or am i doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Dennis.

That is strange, it is also in your sig correct? Those links should count too. All I can really say, is just keep building backlinks. Are you pinging the back links that you build so google crawls them fast?

The search engines will find your backlinks when the spiders go crawling, but they won't show all in order to prevent people from reverse-engineering the result pages.

Try using yahoo's site explorer because that tends to show alot more of your backlinks. Other traffic tools work as well, or you might just want to google 'backlink checker' and use one of those free tools. I'm not too sure which tool you use to check your backlinks.

On a more important note, don't bother checking how many backlinks you have pointing to your sites. Just keep building them. I've sites where i've built several hundreds of backlinks to, yet some backlink checkers still display zero.

So as long as you're consistently building them right, you'd be up there in awhile, as long as the competition is not cut throat. You also may like to get to building other sites ( i believe that's your only one?) because some of my sites, despite the easier competition, never managed to rank for reasons unknown.

have you pointed your url to www or to yourdomain.com, both are totaly differant. if your url in hosting is yourdomain.com and your backlinks url is www then you will missing the benifit.

in that case you should redirect www to non-www

another thing is to check your backlinks with few more softwares. Sometimes backlinks may be crawled but not indexed .

Yes all the links have been pinged! Even the RSS feed URLs have been pinged!

Thank your for your reply. I am already planning my second site and content creation will begin on Friday though out the weekend and then before the week ends, it will be live with more back-links being built again.

Thanks Hayden, I will keep doing that and hope it pay off sooner or later.

No I have not! I'll try and find out how to do this. If I fail, I will send you a quick pm. Thank you.

Thank you all for your replies.

First new domain.. 2nd post your link on some bookmarking sites or high PR sites which has some links on them. Your other pages are rank well than home page. It takes some time just do normal natural link building.

  • Well some back-link checkers are now showing just 3 back-links (I have a hell of a lot more than 3, that's for sure) and some are showing zero. It's extremely discouraging, but I'll keep building more links.

They take a while to show up, especially in Google. I have backlinks which only recently showed up in Google, but were created two months ago! Don't worry about it too much.
