Alexa numbers are rediculous...

Google analytics has my bounce rate at 10.32% but Alexa has it at 70.6%...not to mention my traffic grows by about 10% a week and is 3 times what it was 3 months ago yet my numbers in Alexa aren't getting better and some days actually get worse.

How do they justify there presence in the market if they are so wrong?

alexa has its own ranking. You can measure a accurate rank with alexa.

if you want to boost your alexa rank , just browse your site with alexa toolbar. This simple thing is enough to bounce 10 lac numbers everyday.

when i checked alexa rank first time for my 3 month old domain it was around 1 carore , then i installed alexa toolbar , i achieve the rank of 10 lac within just 7 days with just my own browsing.

anyway alexa rank is good if you want to sell your own ad space. increasing alexa rank isnt a big task

Then 70% of people using the alexa toolbar are bounces for your site, lol.

Their ranking is a mixture of traffic, AND page views.

Alexa is like that, because Alexa has it's own ranking system.

Never trust Alexa or any websites like them. The numbers are never anywhere near accurate.

Uhhh... what? So you know the most accurate sites? But then that would be a site LIKE alexa, so I shouldn't trust them.

Alexa ranking, is by visits, and page views per visit. If you have 20 visitors with an average of 4 page views, you are doing better than a site with 60 visitors with 1 page view.

Alexa explains how they rank... Their rankings are 100% accurate, to their standards.

Alexa has been getting improved in the course of time and their ranks or data displayed today can be much better than the confusing information they used to offer to domains admins some years ago and I guess they have been editing their systems steadily. It can be more or less stated that the data offered would roughly tell about sites.

Of course sometimes strange things might be noticed like experiencing rankings boosts on Google pages and still seeing contrasting Alexa ranks. Nearly all of the webmasters who are actively buying and selling links based on advertising and traffic strengths of domains and websites are tusting Alexa ranks and they could be right too.

There are no accurate tools in the market they are only an estimated output or possible outcome of their own measurement in the fields.

Can someone explain what exactly bounce rate is? I've seen it on my Analytics page but never really got to asking what it is.

Bounce rate is misleading. Alexa is a non issue. Seriously.

What may get noticed is a quick click back to search results from
your site. If the clickout is for an ad or a buy, who cares?

Bounce rate is over rated, especially when there is so much more.
