What would you do if you got a free $125 to spend on Adwords?

It has been years since I used adwords. Recently I got an email inviting me to use their service again and received a 100 brittish pounds voucher for free.

I used the voucher and now have all this money to spend on adwords, but where to start? I don't even know the rules of adwords anymore.

Affiliate page? My own products? What would work best do you think?

I'd use it all to test for a new project, you may not get anywere, but what have you got to lose?

I say find a nice niche, built a mini site and squeeze page, then use the voucher to test the keywords to see which is best, if you're successful and make a good ROI, you can continue to do it aye

Depending on your niche I would probably get into some banner advertising on the content/display network. The rules of adwords search have become so complicated I wouldn't even know where to start these days.

Search Google for your main keywords. Look through the top 10-20 sites and find those that have Google banner ads displaying on them. Try and find sites that have the banners above the fold (visible without the user having to scroll). Setup a url targeted campaign in the adwords content network and target those urls you found.

Try and use simple banners not those pretty ones you see all the time. Simple and ugly seem to work the best.

I can't decide whether I should use content network or search network? Or maybe use banners like Will. Anyone out there started with something that worked recently?

Sell the $125 code on ebay for 60 bucks. Simply because getting any type of affiliate sites to be approved by google is next to impossible any more. If I was you I would go with bing or yahoo instead. You might also try 7 search.
