So, we see the might G and the "shoot the farmer" update bringing an end to content farms (exception to those few who are bringing in million$) the end of the adsense auto blog, and a massive spike in the bottom for Ezine.. what now? well, all is not lost friends.

Article Marketing

Fact is, I have stood by a theory regarding Ezine in particular. Its a nice site and good service but ultimately it may well arrive as an irrelevant site in the eye of G. How do I come to this conclusion? Its true that they will accept your article and run the normal copyscape check, but the thing is that some of the articles offer no real value to the visitor, thus it may end up along the lines of Ebay as a "flea market" for information hence why G battered them on the recent algo update.

Further Thoughts on Article Marketing:

Its true article marketing is not dead, but choosing the right directory is the key. Articles offering pay to advertise flys in the face of G (per there update notes they look more carefully at sites who offer paid links) many article directories do this.

But, there are ways to reaping the rewards articles bring in the form of traffic and position on G and Yahoo etc. My site (small plug) offers an entirely new concept to article marketing which is when you register , we read your articles and approve the ones that are original etc and then we do far more than any other directory..

We:
- Tweet your article to twitter
- Bookmark the article to 50 bookmarks including Facebook , Digg etc
- We dont accept paid links 0 you can have 3 links in your article
- We submit your page to search engine directories
The cost for all this £FREE

Free Online Articles, Submit articles, Free Article Directory

Effective Trick With Articles:

A trick I use, I write an article about one of my sites, add hyperlinks into it etc. Then I post it on the original site , make it live then add it to my article directory. I have seen real positive results doing things this way in particular traffic increasing each time and remaining high

SITES - Why Wordpress is best

Like many I started out with good old HTML and used (cringing) Frontpage but time never stands still and we arrive at wordpress and Joomla. Ok, so lets list the benefits of both:

Joomla:
- Tricky for newbies and can be expensive to hire a developer
- Not really user friendly - requires some experience
- Great if you know what your doing.

Wordpress:
- Easy for newbies, lots of support available.
- Lots of help available on the net
- Plugins - lots of them about

Looking more closely, wordpress really is the king. You can make a nice design etc but for the sake of SEO, its real simple. Adding posts is easy and SEO`ing the posts again is pretty simple. I use all in one SEO, plus 2 other private plugins that deliver the goods.

ENDING THOUGHTS:

The keyword is content! I know, I have tried pretty much all the shortcuts in the book, but content delivers the result. I write 2 articles a day for my main site and on G it has multiple page 1 listings only on articles written.

NO TIME TO WRITE:
Ok so your hard pressed for time and need articles writing, try odesk.com. They have all types of peeps who will write articles for you, the trick here is set the amount paid at a cheap rate.

I pay $1 per article, rarely more than this. When you use Odesk, and post your requirements take some tips from me:

- When setting your job, DONT CHOOSE HOURLY!
- Interview each person and get sample articles from them
- Dont pay if your not happy! raise a dispute

The last point covered here on payment is because from experience I would say around 30% of the workers are:
- Bums who dont deliver a quality product
- Have no skill whatsoever
- Dont speak English.

Well, I hope warriors find this useful and If I may be of further help please PM me and I will do my best to help you.

Kindest Regards
Mike

If you posted this maybe 6 months ago, you would be somewhat right with article marketing being the new SEO, but it isn't. It is just another part of SEO. Probably less value now than there was 2 months ago.

Eh... Joomla is very easy for anyone with any kind of intelligence. People just don't give it a try. When you evaluate the CMS's, Joomla is a lot more flexible, and drupal is even more robust and flexible than joomla and wordpress. Those are the facts..

I think the way you USED to do article marketing, is different now. It definitely is NOT the NEW SEO.

What are you talking about auto blogs? Auto blogs are doing great....

Google emasculated the content farms, not because of unique or quality content issues, but because of relevance. Not the relevance you're thinking of either, relevance in what has been backlinked well enough and what hasn't. Going from ranking 150,000 keywords to 50,000 is a huge drop, I agree, but you can assume 33% of their ranking articles were actually marketed well and not just using some keyword research and home page PR to get things ranked.

Good points raised, articles are not the NEW SEO I wasn't stating this. That was merely the title. My points raised are from personal experience and they work for me and others I work for.

article marketing is not the new seo, I agree completely, my point is how you market articles and the like, again points that work for me and for my clients.

Autoblogs are worthless as they scrapre content from other sites , non original posts then come about. Saying that, Autoblogs are useless, but only in the G Adsense way. This is my thoughts through reading vairous sites on the subject. In addition, you can go to flippa and buy autoblogs for around $60 which is next to nothing.

Right, and that is very important especially now. Those who had their articles ranking in EZA, would probably STILL be ranking if they marketed their articles properly, in my opinion.

I think just letting it sit, would be a bad idea, and offer very little value.

I think EZA should have hired people to do backlinking on many articles for them, and do some marketing so they never would have had this problem! I really think the punishment was related to a lack of marketing on many of the ranked articles, since users were expecting the page rank to trickle on down to their other pages.

Totally correct and EZA have paid the price for this.

My original post covers the ideal scene, not just my article site, any site. By that site promoting your articles they are promoting themselves too.

I dont mind constructive feedback dude, but hostility is not required.
Whoa... No need to get emotional, I was just responding to your thread. And since you have a title that says all the facts, I thought it was important that beginners don't believe this as fact, because it isn't.

You saying autoblogs are worthless, is not true. Original posts don't really make a difference. Content farms and autoblogs are NOT the same. Reading various sites does not make you an expert on autoblogs, and to say they are worthless you are just misinformed. You can buy a lot of sites on flippa for next to nothing, so what?

Look around the forum, you can see a couple people posting their auto blog trends, and all have increased traffic from this.

I for one, have experience with autoblogs, and my clients do as well, and they work. Nothing else to it really, it works. Maybe you don't like them, and you formulate an opinion on it based on your feelings without looking at the facts.

I'm not trying to attack you, and there's no reason to get all emotional over this. I think your post was great, in the aspect of marketing your articles, however, your opinion is an opinion, and not a fact.

        The facts:
Articles work if you market them
Autoblogs are NOT worthless, and they have experienced a climb in traffic
Autoblogs are NOT useless in the google adsense way either, many of them are making a lot of money.
What a site sells on Flippa, has little relevance to anything.

Tku fro your feedback dude. Fair points raised. My only points are what works for me and research carried out. On the autoblogs, its not I dont like them, I just see them as pointless. G I would imagine thinks the same as they tend to just give out duplicated content and generally irrelevant information with the exception of around 20% which offer some degree of usefulness.

    Hi,
    The top SEO tips are
Use the <b> </b> tags around some of your keywords on each page. Do NOT use them everywhere the keyword appears. Once or twice is plenty.

Make sure you have links coming in to as many pages as possible. What does it tell a search engine when other web sites are linking to different pages on your site? That you obviously have lots of worthwhile content.

Make it easy for your visitors to social bookmark your website, creating important links that the search engines value. There are plenty of free social bookmarking widgets available.

Offer articles to ezine publishers that archive their ezines. The links stay live often for many years in their archives.

If you have several topics that could each support their own website, it might be worth having multiple domains.

A big site needs a site map, which should be linked to from every page on the site. This will help the search engine robots find every page with just two clicks.

It's a difficult lesson that people have to learn repeatedly, but you really have to build a site people love. Get that right and everything else is SO much easier. Google's algorithm has evolved to the extent that it next to impossible to game the system. The most successful people now are better at creating something that is valuable to others, or (worse) creating something that "appears" valuable to others.

      True!

I get a little over 50% of my traffic from related niche forums, very steady traffic that happens every single day of the year (all free).

Build a good product & some trust, it's just easier than 100% seo for a search engine.
