let say i am ranking for the keyword 'weight loss' in my country.

when i search for weight loss in google.com.my (for example), the top malaysia site is in position number 5. Above #5 is wikipedias and authority sites.

is it possible to overtake the wikipedias and authority sites? or should I say, is it easy?

    Sure it's possible!

Wikipedia is on page #2 for "weight loss" in Google US search.

Do a Google US search, & look at what the sites on page #1 in the SERPs are doing to keep wikipedia on page #2 for that keyword.

Wikipedia is not counted as an organic result.

Lol, it's just another site like every other site on the net, what are you talking about it's not organic?

If it's in the organic SERPs what would you call it?

i heard about rumours that google prefers wiki and yahoo prefers site they own.

anyway im not that concerned about wiki. im more concerned about those authority sites that are not based in malaysia. what is the protocol when it comes to seo-ing your page for local searches?
