hey people,
ok, if i want SEO benefits from article marketing i need to have articles on different directories to get the best results i know that.
But my question is, is it better to have unique articles for each directory or can you just submit 1 article to all the major directories and still get the same results? I don't mind doing either option i just want to know whats the best.

thanks guys, i can't thank you guys enough.

It will be best to have one unique article per directories but that will be too time consuming.
I would recommend you submit your unique article to ezinearticles. For others directories, you can submit the same article

If you don't want to take the time to add unique content on each directory, I would suggest the following:

    - Write one article and submit to EzineArticles
    - Submit the same article to several article directories and post a link back to your Ezine article in the resource box at other directories, along with your link to your website
    - Bookmark your original article, using something like SocialMarker
    - Open up a blog at Blogger and Wordpress with the keyword you're trying to target (or a related keyword phrase) and submit the article there using a different title
    - Bookmark each post at each blog. Include links back to your original article in each blog post as well.
    - Re-write your article and post to Squidoo and Hubpages. Bookmark each page and link back to original article.

There you go - Follow this, and you'll see some killer results!

trippmarxx , have you tried this method in the past? I started article marketing a few months ago and im having fantastic success at getting over 60% of my articles published but alot of these publishers are stripping both my hyperlink keyword and the linkback to my ezinearticles.com article.
What can i do to discourage them from doing this further?

To achieve the best results long term you should try to submit unique articles to each directory. This requires more time though until you know some of the tricks to optimize article submission and distribution.

Long term Google will filter out duplicate articles but unique article stay.

Short term it doesn't make much difference.

I have submitted article on ezine and followed all steps. But saw that traffic is very slow. Go get good amount of click on your website is quite time consuming. Not only articles but also press release, forums posts play good role here.

The main goal with article marketing isn't to get a bunch of traffic or links from the article directories, because that just ain't going to happen.

The point of syndicating content is to get other people to distribute your articles - in ezines, on their web sites, etc.

With that goal in mind, you might think differently about the type of articles you write, and put more effort or resources into creating higher quality articles that stand out from the crowd.

You don't necessarily need to give each directory a different article, although some of them require that in their TOS.

One of the most important things to do is follow up on articles that get distributed. Many of the people who are picking up and using your articles will become long term partners, if you reach out and start a conversation.

Google Alerts can help with tracking the distribution of your articles - you can track the title of the article and the author's name with search queries like:
"amazing secrets to becoming amazingly amuzing"+"pat smith"

Spend some time contacting other blogs that are in a related or complimentary topic and ask if you can write a guest article or two for them. They will not strip your links. Once you start building a few relationships like this, you may find that they include your blog or site in their blogroll as well - a great benefit. I find this works much better than submitting articles to general directories. Submitting articles can work great, if done correctly, but the whole "duplicate content" issue is mostly a myth... send them all the same thing... yes, the backlinks will diminish over time, however, Google still counts them when ranking your page...

A method that I have been recommending since early this year (2008) is to slightly alter your article using Power Article Rewriter in order to make about 20 different versions. Then you can post in the following locations:

    1 - Ezinearticles.com
    2 - Blogger Blog
    3 - Wordpress Blog
    4 - Squidoo Lens
    5 - Yahoo Answers
6 - Tube Mogul (in the form of a video)
    7 - Onlywire.com (social communities)
    8 - About 10 - 15 other top tier directories

I'm also starting to like what AssociatedContent.com offers.

    Hope this helps.

I have not found duplicate content to be too much of an issue when it comes to article directories. Ezinearticles and Searchwarp have proved very effective for me. I just submit the same articles to each directory and have received a lot of traffic this way.

I agree. This has never been a problem for me. The best thing you can do, however, is to write some very informative articles with a bio box that will draw people to your site and then do a backlink campaign on the article. You will have tremendously more success by doing that.

No one says that dup content is a tragedy, absolutely NOT!

But do a small SEO test. Submit the article to EzineArticles and then the same article (IMPORTANT: with the same article title) to your site.

I bet that very soon you will that EzineArticles page with your content is much higher than your site page (with the same content) for this title query in search engines.

This is how your content on EzineArticles is beating the same content on your site. Great for EzineArticles, but I assume you would be more happy to get the traffic DIRECTLY to your site, not via your article on EzineArticles where some portion of the people will definitely not click your resource box link, just because this is normal statistics.

And you can beat EzineArticles for the same content and title only in case you build more backlinks to the page of YOUR site than EzineArticles has to the page of THEIR site with your article. But this is already not article marketing, this is pushing your page to Google top 10 with the help of backlinks, and this is absolutely another story.

So, there is no big tragedy about dup content in article marketing, but with all parameters equal they get a lot more than you get in terms of SEO. And don't forget that we are in the section of "Adsense / PPC / SEO Discussion Forum" on Warriors and hence SEO aspect needs to be seriously taken into account.

    Hi Maverick8,

I've been using article marketing for friggin' ever. I used to submit to more than a 100 article directories and found that the true benefit was only coming from the top 10 starting with EzineArticles. So, I curtailed my submissions a little bit. I've also read a lot about the duplicate content issue. When submitting to the 10 directories, I change the title, intro paragraph, and conclusion. I think it's helped slightly but I haven't seen a huge difference in traffic or PR value being passed to my sight.

If you're really concerned about duplicate content, there are a couple of resources out there that will help you generate AND submit unique content but they are all subscription based. The two I know of are contentspooling network and unique article wizard.

    Best of luck!

I had my doubts at first until I actually saw the results. I keep it real simple.

I post to about 10 different sites with keywords in each artucle of course but not too many it will look like spam.

I have several different articles on top of search ingines right now, it works, freee traffic.

One article has been on the first page of MSN for 2 months now.

    Don't give up.

I just launched my new blog and now is live. Take a look and let me know what you think. ronjrandall.com

actually ive been working for more than a year for article submission. and i guess you can use one article for all directories but first submit it to the ezine since that site is great and very sensitive once it can see some duplication it will decline your article

You also have to think in terms of the the whole picture of what your are trying to accomplish. There are a lot more variables than just how many articles and where. If you can get a quality article on a well regarded specialty site in your niche, you will get more results from it than EzineArticles. It will do better than an article you slapped together with worthless general information in 5 minutes and submitted to hundreds of sites that may or may not have any traffic. Or even 100 unique but crappy articles submitted to 100 different sites. The quality of the content is becoming more important in SEO and it has always been important in terms of traffic which actually converts to customers.

I am finding that as long as the article is spidered on my site first (with only internal links) and then the exact same article is submitted to other article directories - even to EZA - then the article on my site usually ranks higher.

I have many top rankings for highly competitive keywords (seee my Google first page sig for reference), and I do the following:

    1. I submit a LOT of articles to ezinearticles

    2. I submit some of the articles I submitted to ezinearticles to the best top 10 sites like:

    goarticles.com
    amazines.com
    searchwarp.com
    ideamarketers.com
    articlealley.com
    ...

this (and a couple of other things) give me top rankings for my sites.

there are not all the directories that are good considering their popularity and page rank. Thus if you can submit to only those dir which are really good in both sense and can submit unique articles to them then it would be a great benefit for you....
if you are tired of writing and researching for articles then you can opt for rewriting other people article........
