okay, I need some traffic. period. Good quality traffic, I now KNOW first hand and found out THAT is the name of the game. period. Not having great copy (that surely helps), NOT having a kick-ass well thought out and proven "design", NOT having a killer deal or video on your page, BUT HAVING REAL TARGETED TRAFFIC! because I see what I consider crappy, low budget, busy websites and landing pages in the top 10, and I KNOW they are doing well selling their products.

I have a great site, great copy, great design, and the product, lol, well (we honestly sold our program a year ago for $2000 person.and we sold a lot, it was in person training twice a week, but its still the same program) the product is now just $47. I feel bad letting it go for that price since we put YEARS of hard work, errors, mistakes, etc into it, but i just wanted to bring in extra income and I have a passion for IM.

so, I have all those great things lined up, I JUST NEED TRAFFIC! FB traffic is great, but I cant afford 2-3 dollars per click? thats insane. f that.

so, are there any ideas out there? what about black hat? bad news I know, but I can totally see how and why people get pulled to the dark side and choose those methods.

anyway..just wanted to vent...thanks for reading..

If you were selling a product for 2k then you should be able to design a sales funnel with higher priced products as upsells.

What exactly have you done to get traffic? If you need ideas on traffic then I would recommend searching the forum. There is a lot. I know Andy Henry addressed traffic several times on the forum.

    Good luck!

How well are you optimized, on page and off page? Looks like you just need an SEO guy or firm for this.

Black hat, don't do it.. this is something you have put years into right? Then you know the importance of longevity. If you're willing to sacrifice that for a few days of good traffic, then think again.

What about advertising through google adwords or microsoft adcenter? Those don't need to be $5+ clicks, they can be under a dollar. Send me a PM if you need help... I do quite a bit of SEO for people

    What is your conversion ratio?

You just really need to get your site in the top 10... preferably top 3. I think the free traffic is great.

Right, I have been developing a site, almost done now, and I haven't posted the link ANYWHERE, but it is already being indexed and ranking for keywords, due to keyword research.

Keyword research is key. Just in the last 2 days, my site jumped from 4th page to 2nd page of google and has gotten double the views and double the adsense income. I love it. Now wait till I am on page one number 1!

If you're THAT confident in your product and your funnel (and it sounds like you are), it's time to start limited paid advertising testing.

You rarely hear it (because it doesn't sell) but the majority of the largest selling products on CB are driven by paid campaigns by their owners.

    It is what it is.

It doesn't mean you have to drop thousands of dollars on risky buys that wind up breaking your heart. Just start slow with low CPC efforts, track your results, and scale.

I rarely do this, but Mike Morgan has an excellent WSO on low cost media buys that could serve you well.

Regardless, free traffic is great, I understand, but I think most proponents of free traffic would be shocked to see just how much revenue paid ad campaigns can bring.

hey everyone, sorry, been busy with the baby he is 2 weeks old today, lol, definitely different around here. I also lost momentum as we approached the due date and then the birth, now Im back in it.

to answer a few questions above and comments.

I am doing SEO now, I found a guy that I THINK is going to be good, only been at it for a month or so now. I know it takes time..

I WAS using crappy stuff like adengage, adbrite, etc. I only spent maybe few hundred bucks total just to see if it actually drove traffic, and it did, thats for sure. 1000 visits per day i was getting from fanfiction.net.. However, IT WAS CRAP!! must have been a bot or something, cause with 1000 visits per DAY i would have been seeing stuff added to cart, or clicks around and scrolling and at least ONE order over 30 days. so i blocked the IP address cause it was annoying.

when we launched I had sales, great conversions, but since then, nothing. zero. zilch. I am getting NO traffic, meaning almost zero, that is why no sales. you gotta get people in your store to make sales, period.

With regards to SEO some of you may seen my post on here about my experiance with SEO, it was comical. EVERYONE claims to be the best, to get top rankings, etc. some guys are 200 per month, some quoted me 2000, and one firm, (greenbanana seo) said pay per performance. meaning once they GET me on the top 10 of google for certain keyword i pay.

I wont do black hat, as my wife (mostly her) wrote the book, its 152 pages. We worked hard to learn short sales and close deals and make a great living at it. One day she walked in and said, look what I wrote! it was a whole book basically on the process, her tips, tricks, etc. she said can you sell this on the internet? I said SURE HONEY!! lol. I came up with the name, found the designer, copy guy, etc. now I feel obligated as we are in this now well over $5-6000 investment I have to get some sales going, AND I'm determined to make it work and make money on the internet.

all of the suggestions above are good ones and Im aware of them, the problem is where exactly do you go? what companies, what team do I hire, and WHO can I trust?

    chris

Looks like your guy is garbage. 1 month and you don't know yet or not if he is any good? You're wasting money.

I have a client and we just started SEO work about a week ago and he already is seeing results. Not a massive increase in SERPs but increase in traffic definitely.

I think your concerns are in the wrong places, theres some software that WOULD be beneficial to use doing SEO. Forum profiles, you can blast out 100,000 without being flagged by google, especially since it would take months and months to even have 10% indexed.

well I am also in one of the most competitive niche markets. "real estate investing education" it is VERY profitable, so profitable that many other investors I know went the "guru" route and are making 10x's what they were in Real Estate. We love the real estate, its our future long term, but for the time being, I want to prove to myself and others that I COULD make money on the internet with this product. I proved that in person with our program and training, I can do this too. Im very committed and dedicated. I have tons of information, programs, documents, templates, etc that I can use for upgrades, subscription service, etc. I just need to set up the infrastructure and just need that ONE person/team to believe in me and my product and give me that shot. Iwont let them down and they won't be disappointed. problem is, everyone is busy and has their own agendas to sell and promote. tough racket!!! lol

Well have you been able to find keywords to rank for, because that is one of the most important things. I have created many sites where I totally messed up the keywords and getting traffic is extremely hard if you pick keywords no one is searching for. I am also goal oriented and know how you feel. I mean I'm trying to sell google sniper 2.0 one of the highest paying affiliate products on the internet. lol

      To your success!

Funny, when I read your name I knew it was either shorting the stock market or real estate. So real estate it is!

You're are missing a nice little niche. Google local. You could market that little software to every hot area of the country that's needing short sales. Then follow up with targeting to real estate agents in those major cities.

Type in (as an example) San Diego short sale software. Pick any major city and play with the phrase. Go to Free web hosting, free domain name, free domain hosting-LimeDomains pick the name and pay no hosting, just the name. I bet with $25 total you can own a city and be #1 on google.

Your SEO effort is missing one thing: Researching the competition. You need to get the SEOQuake plug in for your browser, and you need to go to Google page 1 for your chosen keywords, and then gut the sites that have the first five or six positions. How many indexed pages do they have? How many backlinks, and from where? What is their Alexa rank? What keywords are they getting their best traffic from? And here is the kicker that I should be charging money for -- Are they getting any big traffic from a keyword that they are not optimized for, and can you take that keyword by doing a better job of on page optimization?

heres what i dont understand. there really arent many keywords for what my product is. its pretty straight forward. I want people who are

    a) looking to get into real estate investing
    b) in real estate investing but want to do short sales
    c) are in real estate, doing short sales, but stuck and need help taking their biz to next level.

    so, that leaves

    real estate investing
    short sales
    short sales education
    learn short sales
    how to short sale
    make money in short sales.

    etc...

so r you saying there are many different variations of the same thing and you have to do seo for each individual one?

i would think someone that typed in google "i want to learn how to do short sales". that hdss would come up.

or this person late at night "make money with short sales", or

"getting started in real estate investing"

etc? i have to do seperate campaigns for all those phrases? i guess I need to learn more about seo.

It took me years to get traffic. Yes, I had some good ideas here and there, but mostly I grew a reputation (the sites more so than me personally) and it added up over time. If you have quality in mind, it will win over time. If you just want to stick something up and get some quick links that plan is mostly flawed barring a sensational idea.

You say you sold your program to individuals for 2K each offline. Why do you want to now sell it online for $47?

Is it because you want to make the passive income from it instead of having to actually train individuals and do the work?

If so, then think carefully about your product. Is it something that will really achieve this? To me it looks like a 'hands on' product.

You say there are limited keywords for the product. Potentially - that means there are limited people looking for it. If people are not looking for it - there is no point in doing SEO to get your site to rank, as no-one will be there when you get to the top!

If you are really passionate about your product - then you need people to sign up to your mailing list and service their needs over a long time. To me - it sounds as if this is what your product is about.

It doesn't sound as if your product is something people would buy the first time they land on your sales page. Therefore, if you are really passionate about your product - your need signups.

SEO is not really going to help you a great deal unless you can find those words that people are searching for that match the primary aim of your product.

Chances are these words are very broad - e.g. 'make lots of money' or 'work 2 hours a day and make 2K' and you have tons of competiton for these words.

    Years - not months !

Look at what you are trying to achieve. If you want 'set and forget' income, then it sounds to me the product you have will not do this for you. You will have to take another strategy to get it to work.

If you want me to take a look at your product position and strategy - send me a PM.

    Gerry.

Thanks Gerry, yes we sold our program called "elite short sales" and we sold it at $4000, but you could bring a business partner. which everyone did, they each paid 2k. We had "class" 2 nights a week where we started from the beginning and just went through all the moving parts, processes, etc of finding deals, negotiating the short sale, finding buyers, and closing the deal. We went over actual deals, approvals, appraisals, BPO's, etc. People loved it and went on to start their own business. Well, should I say a few of them did, and are still doing it today and growing. Others (as many mentors may know) others just move on to the next thing and never actually DO anything. I opened up my office to them, to sit in my office all day if they wanted, I did training videos, recorded phone calls with banks, and asked for one simple weekly wrapup of what they did that week to grow their business. they couldnt even do that! it was so frustrating. they wanted to be "successful" in real estate, but couldnt even fill up one page, or a sentence for that matter of what they did that week to grow their business. ie, create marketing campaign, research properties, go to networking events (we live in chicago, theres dozens a night you can go to). so, my point is this, we don't want to be "coaches" anymore. I care too much, I nkow many mentors and coaches become numb to the "professional learners" out there, and they just take their money and bring in the next person, if they fail or succeed, they really dont care. well they care if they succeed cause they use them as testimonials or case studys, but the 90% + that fail and never use the info, they could care less.

So, HDSS is designed for the person who is in need of some serious nitty gritty info and education about ss. also they need jump started with marketing ideas, templates of letters to send to the banks, how to fill out the intake forms, how the banks work, on and on and on. I had it at $97, that truly is ridiculous price for a 158 page guide with all the document, contracts, etc. the big guys sell this stuff for THOUSANDS. but they CAN because they are established and have tens of thousands of dollars in their ad budget to create massive portals and subscription services and fancy websites with all the bells and whistles, etc. They also have software to add to the program. we are selling the e-kit. NOW, I know when we started out 4 years ago, if I would have found something like HDSS I would have been in HEAVEN! ITS PERFECT. ANYWAY....yea I need some insight or someone who is willing to work with me/us and get this thing on the right track. I can see the vision in my head of the whole thing, but getting there is the problem. what would be great would be a subscription service, monthly, all me and my wife have to do is some training videos per month, we can send out marketing templates, new templates, programs, resources, etc every months to the subscribers. I know the back end is where the real money is. so anyway... thanks all, pm me if interested or you have services that can help.
