backlinkwatch.com - can't see backlinks on my page?

Hi

I'm a newbie

I saw the post using backlinkwatch.com can check number of backlinks pointing to my page.

I have done some backlinks on forums and also made some squidoo pages linking back to my page.

But for some reasons the backlinkwatch says I don't have any backlinks? Am I doing something wrong?

There are hundreds of utilities that will show you the backlinks pointing to your website, none of them are highly accurate. I wouldn't worry about it.

Also try Open Site Explorer and Majestic SEO for web-based backlink analysis.
Backlink watch is nice and simple though, I still use it also.

    None of them shows up.
When you say it's not indexed yet? What's that mean?
My main site is a wordpress blog with backlinks from Squidoo webpage, it is not really a website, but that shouldn't have any issues, right?

I've seen it take weeks for backlinkwatch to show links I've created. It took about two weeks for the first links from a Squidoo lens to show up, and when they did, they were in comments I had left on someone else's lens -- not the links in the six lenses I've created. It took nearly a month for backlinkwatch to show the first article link I made from ezinearticles.com -- and so forth.

If you use three different backlink checkers to check your site, you will get three different sets of results.

I know it is frustrating. I've made it to page 3 on the Goog for my "big" keywords. I have nearly 450 indexed pages on my site, far more than enough to get to Page 1 -- but the Page 1 competition has 3k to 4k backlinks, and I have a little over 200. So I try to build 10 really good links a day.

btw, for the backlinks, do I need to put in "www" at the beginning? Would that be thw problem causing my backlinks not showing up?

Though when I click on it, the link works, so I guess should be alright? I just have to be patient, it will eventually show up..

Hi Adrian, My number one piece of advise when you are starting out is to not worry about every little detail. It takes time for links to apear. Some links will never apear. other links will apear for a while and then all of a sudden vanish over night. Simply don't sweat it.

What really matters is how you are ranking long term. And if you are just starting to rank for your keywords then you will no doubt soon experience the google dance. When I first started out I would ride a huge roller coaster of emotions when ever I experienced this. One day I was one the first page, the next I was on page 10. Don't stress about this either. Your philosophy should always be about long term results.

when it comes to your back links you want to make sure the pages that they are on get indexed and stay indexed. I have a sneaky trick that I have never herd anyone talk about before....So here it is..

I use stumble upon to get my back links indexed. But not through book marking the page.

Instead I "stumble through" the niche that my back link is related too. When I land on a blog that allows comments then I leave a RELEVANT and USEFUL comment with a link to the page that has my back link. Don't worry about trying to put a spammy keyword relevant hyperlink in the comment. Also don't worry if it is a do_follow or No_follow. We are just trying to get our pages indexed and we are not worried about link juice.

So why use S.U, instead of just doing the following google search?

"keyword" "post your comment" "powered by wordpress"

Well when you come across a blog in S.U there is a very good chance that page is a great link magnet with very strong authority, (other wise it wouldn't be doing well in the S.U ranking engine.) This means that the page with your backlink has a much greater chance of getting indexed and STAYING indexed.

Any way to sum every thing up. Don't worry about the little details. It is the long term trends and results that matter. Some days you will be up, some days you will be down. Just keep working hard and everything will work out in the end."

Hope this helps a little bit.

It takes time to realize, so be patient. I am suggesting you to also check from yahoo site explorer which is a quick to realize compared to backlinkwatch

You should check out your links in Yahoo! Site Explorer. Its the best tool for backlinks. It always works good for me.
