I am on page 10 out of 7,940,000 sites...

I am on page 10 for a specific keyword out of 7,940,000 sites without
quotes and 1,360,000 with quotes any recommendations on how I can
get on the first page. Has anyone had a real hard time trying to work to get on page 1? Thanks for your help:-)

    It's kind of difficult to say without more information. It depends on what they keyword is and what your competitors are doing.

    Joe, if you are not doing any SEO work and you are already on page 10, then you should look into doing some backlink work

    i would suggest finding a couple of .edu/.gov or even just a few backlinks from ANY website really would do the trick

    The only thing that will matter is the anchor text in the backlink
    (make sure it matches your keyword EXACTLY)

    P.S,
    i would bold keyword phrase once in the content on the homepage, and look into on-page SEO more from there(thats one you typically dont hear to often)

      You need link diversity.

      Bottom line, if you get a mix of article links, blog links, directory links, web 2.0 links, .edu/.gov links then you'll soon rise up in the SERPs.

      Also, dont just stop building links either. Once you get where you want, keep building links to maintain your position.

    if your webpage is seo correctly this can be achived just may take a while, check out your competitors get busy with articles and backlinking and maintain a consistent flow, monitor your sites preformance ,If your sites is comming up in the rankings keep doing the same things use an outsourser if you have a few dollars to spare
