Is Google avoiding this?

Hello all respected warriors,

I have read somewhere that Google avoids words of praise like best, largest etc. in content or description of site.

Is this true?

  • Really? I have no idea upon it.If anyone can guide us, I use praising words in my content a lot, but yet I haven't get any negative respond in fact my business is sparkling now a days.

    I think you may be confusing a rule in Adwords with the natural rankings. In Adwords, you cannot use superlatives (best, biggest, largest...) in your ads. But as far as your site is concerned, I don't believe that the algo checks for such words to decrease your rankings.

      the OP asked? Just nonsense.

      The truth is google does ignore certain words in search. That does
      not mean you can't use them!

      They're called stop words and there are probably dozens of them.
      They have to ignore hyperbole and other abused or unneeded words
      when people search. There's no penalty, and there's nothing
      nefarious about the practice. And on the flip side, sometimes
      these stop words are needed and their algo does include them.

      Normally, if some sites deserve the words included, it will be
      a very short list and all sites after that ignore the word.

      To narrow the results down to what google thinks the searcher
      wants requires them to ignore certain words.

    Like Paul said it doesn't matter If you use those words, just don't use only those words.

      they do work in some cases..

      dont bother making them part of your research strategy... if they are important/significant, they will come up if your research is enought indepth in the first place

      meaning if they are worth finding. you will find them.

  • I'm not sure of that. Never heard. Maybe you can use that but not the "best" word alone. This is the first time I've encountered such question and never it crosses my mind

    • I am not talking about keywords.

      What I am trying to say is these words possibility of avoidance in Google in site content is high, but not every time.

      In short, we should less use of these superlative words in our content and description.
  • i have heard about that like 2 years ago....all my niche sites had those words in their titles, anchors, articles etc, no problem at all.
