How to resolve poor CTR?

I've just started using PPC again and it's a blindspot for me. I have an ad running that got 3,715 impressions but only 8 clicks. This seems very poor. I presume it's down to my copy and I shall continue testing? Anything else I should look at? I'm on positions 4-6 for most keyword phrases and exact (no broad terms)which worked best on another campaign I started the other week.

    • Hi Rich,

      Try using your keyword phrase in the ad text, if you are not already doing so. It works especially well when it fits within the headline of your ad.

      Create at least two ads for each ad group to see which works better and keep your ad groups narrowly focused, one keyword per ad group.

      Longer keyword phrases, when well chosen tend to have higher CTR, but fewer impressions so you need a lot of them.

    Well it depends on the design of a certain page but I see the following things the best.

    Posting of ads inside articles in embedded colors.
    Placing ads after articles
