Hi Warriors,

I have a question regarding backlinks.

When i'm submitting my posts with my keywords do I link back to the homepage of my website or the page that I want to rank?

For example, I have a page that I want to rank for my local town so should my anchor text by my keyword and the link be "domain.com/my-keyword-here.html" ?

Cheers

if you are intending to rank that particular page for the keyword then you are right to backlink to "domain.com/my-keyword-here.html"

It depends on the type of backlink. If it's contextually relevant to the page you want to SEO, then directly backlink your deep URL. If it's not, then link directly to your domain.

Backlinks from pages unrelated to your niche do not help with search engine results page rankings, but they DO help with adding authority to your site. That then helps you rank in search engines.

Build more links to home page and then to other important pages in your website.

Yes, your anchor tag and URL must be very important because they will help you to get backlink and reputation over search engine and if possible try to have a GEO based SEO strategy to have good business.

Remember to add variations of your keyword or phrase in the anchor text.

It's good to be relevant but just using the exact same keywords makes it look unnatural to search engines.

Yeah you are right. If you are targeting link page then target your keyword in anchor text and in url.

You should add backlinks to the page you want to rank for, especially if the keywords are in the URL of that page, it is also good to build backlinks to your homepage as well.

Homepage are more likely to get ranked easily as compare to internal pages, that's why we use our main keywords for homepage. So if its your main keyword then I will suggest you backlinking your home page with that main keyword. But if its secondary keyword then go for backlinking that particular page with keyword.
    Thanks
