Yea, profile links are not easily indexed like they use to be, you now have to use certain tactics to get them indexed, as before it would only take a few days to get your links indexed.

for me i always save a list of my profile links and upload them directly into tom's backlink booster. It will automatically ping, rss and post them on web 2.0 sites to boost the linkjuice and increase indexation rate. There are other products like sean's backlink boost and another one called backlink energizer which all do the same job. It really works in getting the profile links indexed

they still do work but you need to be more selective now. I see few really competitive search results now with top rankings using just forum profile links. Even some of the less competitive terms that used to show great results no longer show as well indexed or not. use them just make sure to mix them with other kinds of links
