Hi all,

I would like to know if I have my programmer create a custom WordPress theme would the theme have to be updated every time a new version of WordPress comes out and if so, how should I go about the theme creation process?

  • You're getting annoying repeating your questions in as many places as you can.

Stop asking questions, and start doing ****.

You've been asking questions about Adsense since December of last year, yet you still have done nothing.

    • Amen to that!!

  • I have been saving my capital all the while. I like to think alot before I make major moves, because I hate to make alot of mistakes. Please let me know what is your respond to the above question.
  • i haven't code WP yet but i think if you create a theme and there's an update, you have to test your theme too. wp updates will come with a changelog, then you make sure your theme is synced with the latest changes so it works seemlessly.

    all the best.

  • Answer is no. If your theme validates with the current WP version it will work with future. It's just a template right.

Now if your theme ONLY works properly with some plugins in play, then yeah.....it could break the theme if a new WP version doesn't play nice with a plug.

Take your time Terry. You'll make a decision eventually. Why not start with one white-hat blog to start, and write about something you are fairly well read in.

You know, the most important thing I ever did back in the beginning was start a white-hat blog and just write content for 6 months. When I saw the results of getting traffic, I realized that HEY!!!! --- I can do this.

    You can to.
  • Depending on the new functionality that becomes available with each new version of WordPress, yes - you may need to update the theme.

You will certainly need to review the Beta versions for each new release to ensure your theme will remain compatible.

In my view you'd be better off buying one of the premium frameworks and creating the design you want on top of that.

    Cheers,

    Martin.
