Hello fellow warrior,

Recently i set up 4 campaigns all in google adwords content network,
direct linking and iframe the merchant page starting bids at $0.10,
bidding on some "mindset" & long tail keywords.

The next day, i download the statistic using my adwords and i notice
google slap my keywords up to $10 & $5 and my ads are not running.

Is Google slap on the content network ads??I thought it only happen
in Google search and content network is safe from being slap??

Regards,
Cheying

    Hi Cheying,

Yes, even though you have been "Google Slapped", it does not prevent your ads from being displayed in the Content Network. Those $5 and $10 minimum bids are only for the Search Network bids, and they now indicate the minimum to have your ad display on the first page of search results.

You ads may still display in the Content Network if you have outbid your competitors.

      dburk,

      Thank for your reply.

When i try to use the adwords editor to increase my bid price
a bit (eg:$0.10 to $0.20) in content network, it doesn't allow
me to do that, unless i increase the price as high as $5 or $10.

Ya, i saw my ads still active but very low impression. What should
      I do now??

        Hi Cheying,

Are you using the AdWords Editor software program or trying to edit your bids in the web interface?

          Hi,

Delete your campaign & restart all over again.

It's likely that you've been slapped because you said your min. bid was $5-$10.

Your min. bid is directly impacted by your campaign's QS.

Google may have phased out the min. bid thingy for the 1st page min bid but it's still on Adwords Editor which is quite useful in gauging the QS of your campaign. (Now, when would the 1st page min bid be on AE? )

Have u tried approaching their chat support staff? Yes, they have online chat support. Go to Help and type in chat support. Click on the chat support article, a new window will pop up and if the time is right, you'll see a yellow box at bottom right asking you to "click here to chat now", something like that.

I'm a hunch that you were slapped due to your iframe & direct linking. You can check with them.

          Hope this helps.

      Thanks Johnson,

Sound like Google really slap me hard on "Content Network". Maybe i heard too much Guru saying "you are safe sailing in content network", "no such thing call google slap in content network"....haha...

I did look up for the chat support, but that little yellow button never show up...maybe because of my time zone. I am in Malaysia, 12 hours different. Johnson, do you have a direct link to that?

After going through my campaign again, i think these may be some of my campaign problems:
      1. iframe & ppc direct linking to the merchant
      2. promoting ringtones offer. (not so sure, as some said google banned this, some said no)
      3. my account is quite new and i create 35k keywords in 4 campaigns one shot!. (will this trigger google red flag?)
      4. my keywords not relevant? (not so sure as well, as i am just bidding on the singers name, and i heard a "guru" bidding on dictionary words still get a lot of leads, confuse!)

Dburk, I am using the adwords editor software because i am having over 35k keywords in my campaign, i can't edit my ads one by one using the web interface.

        Likely to be the cause!

        I don't think #4 is a problem.

Why don't you give Adwords a ring?

    Hi Cheying,

You should be able to change your you bid to anything you want. The editor will show a warning, but it doesn't prevent you from posting the change anyway. Just ignore the warning and do it.

I would recommend setting your maximum bid even higher than planned to see which keywords may be just on the cusp of generating impressions. Then lower your bids after a couple of days to your targeted price. This will give you valuable data that will be useful after you optimize your landing page.
