Questions about WP Mage

Hi,

I have been looking at WP Mage, and although it looks very interesting indeed(!), I have some questions for people who actually use the product or who feels they can respond on the basis of their deep expertise:

1. Doesn't the poor grammar of the auto-generated blog posts put people off? (All the blogs go through at least 2 Google translation processes e.g. English to Spanish and then back to English again).

2. Would you not have to manually write at least one (the latest and top) post anyway - in part to handle the effect of the translation problem in 1 above, but more importantly to specfically try to pre-sell the core product that the site "seed keyword" is focused around?

3. This is a biggie question for me: Although WP Mage automatically pulls-in lots affiliate products related to the site seed keyword, most of them are waaaaaaay down the very long page. Who is going to spend ages carefully scrolling down to find just the thing they are looking for? I just don't get it.

4. Although WP mage allows you to create back-dated posts, the SE bots aren't stupid. When they come across new WordPress sites that have not been indexed yet, and see that first post is dated say 18 months ago, will they not realise it's an auto-generated site, and penalise accordingly? This is of course particularly relevant in the light of Google's latest algorithm change to penalise exactly these kinds of sites.

Thanks!

Ray

  • Hi, I can answer your questions as they are quite common for new users

The translation "problem" is a non issue because the majority of our users hardly even use it.

Mage is a HUGE toolkit and translation is one part of many. If you actually do decide to use it and translate for example
    English-Spanish-English or English-French-English

what you get back is "pretty good" meaning that at a glance most people wont notice. If you wanted to fine tooth pick it then sure... Though most Mages found that not translating does fine in itself.

If you wanted to get horrible results you would use the tool to do something like
    english-korean-hindi-russain- english
and then you will have a garbled mess

for that specific example, I am not sure what demo you saw, because obviously i chose my languages to funnel through poorly, but I think my above answer clarifies.

remember Mage is a comprehensive toolkit and is only as useful as far as you choose to use it

Another valuable use of translation is making forgien language sites. So you can translate English-German and have sites focused on monetizing with Amazon Germany for example.

You can, but Mage wins via the long tail, meaning you can have a "core" keyword for a site, but the reality is that a large portion of your traffic will come directly to your thousands of long tail keywords.. things that only a few people search for a day, but you happen to be on top since you can target enmasse

what you saw is the default demo template. after they "get their feet on the ground" We encourage users to customize their posting templates for that very reason. There is massive amounts of customization you can do.

Actually they are stupid (so far!) they index them fine.
As for the Google Farmers update. It has completely been a non-effect for our users. Some sites went up, some went down as with every google update.

Remember last year google had something called "mayday", which the result was about the same. And the thing is... if something did happen, then we are quick to adjust as our income depends on this as well, so it is in our interest to keep it working. We update the software approx 1-2 times a month to stay on top of industry changes.

Hope that answers all your questions.
I am here to reply to any more other future Mages may have

    • Hi Greg, I too was recommended the product via George Brown. I see that you focus predominantly on aged domains, but obviously this is not something that is discussed in the Sniper program.

The main focus being to find domains for keywords and LSIs that enable you to promote one core affilliate product (per site) rather than trying to earn money from multiple smaller purchases on ebay etc.

I would appreciate your thoughts into how this fits with the WP Mage system.

      Many thanks
      Jon

    • I am not familiar with the software, however I am a linguist and have worked as a translator/interpreter for many years. Most likely, I am the only one in this forum with graduate studies in translation theory and cross-cultural communication.

A while ago I had the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced linguistic programs. Not even those could do a decent human-readable translation. And all the online "translation programs" are as bad as it gets.

So, anybody (especially, a non-linguist) saying their software is doing a "pretty good" translation that has "value"... is misleading the customers.

  • Thank you all, and in particular to Greg for responding to all my points in this my first ever Warrior Forum created thread.

Greg - I have two further questions:

    QUESTION 1
Greg - are you then saying that there appears to be no Google duplicate content penalty? How can this be?

    QUESTION 2
I have purchased MAGE but cannot see this Report. Would you please let me know where it is?

    Many thanks!

    • 1 - I dont want this to turn into a "duplicate content debate" thread as that will take it FARRRR away from its main purpose..... But the simple short answer is that FOR MAGE SITES, it doesn't seem to matter based on thousands of domains tested and monitored

2 - Recheck your welcome email. there will be a link in there, if you dont see it contact our support desk and they will send you over the link.

  • Hey Mr. Jacobs:
Raw, fresh, newbie here, having just acquired your WP Mage program. But I can't get off of first base. I never received the '2 e-mails' as stated in the thank you letter, and I've been unable to address your support desk. I registered, but still can't get in. Tried to re-register, but now, the account already exists, so it apparently accepted the first effort, but I still can't get in. If I understand this correctly, if I launch 100 websites, I'll need 100 domains, or somewhere around $500.00 worth, or can more that one website be launched per Domain. This is not a problem, just want to know, up front, how far to jump. I'm impressed with what I've read, just would like to establish a line of communication.
  • Hi Greg,

Fantastic thread. I also read through the thread from a year ago as well. It's interesting reading the discussion/debate on various points of using this software.

    I have one quick question:

Is there any monthly cost to use wpmage/snipermage or is it one time fee? I noticed the no upsells but I just wanted to confirm.

    Thanks,

  • Actually I have another question. In the sniper video it shows that you can automate overstock, epn, and amazon. Has the software been updated now to automate affiliate links from clickbank and other affiliate offers? I am not an epn nor overstock affiliate. I used to be an ebay affiliate but sometime in 2009 for some reason that stopped and i never followed up on it (strangely the scripts I put up still work though and display ebay auctions). And, I just tried to today applying for overstock and my application was instantaneously denied.

So I'd be starting out with just Amazon.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!
  • Good Morning Warriors,

I want to be clear that I recently purchased Mage and am not an affiliate. Just starting, I have purchased my first three target sites and waiting for GD to clear them.
After spending the weekend going through much of the material and getting a feel for it, (my) thoughts are as follows.

One question I saw here deals with buying from Go Daddy and I can say they have always been the best for site research and if you don't like using them long term just transfer after the 1st year. It is my belief 40.00 per site will be MY average because I found better targets in the 10-20 range and after fees it will run that. If I expect to give my site a shot to make me 400+ a month and can't invest that, why bother? If I can gank a good $5 site cool.

The main control of Mage integrates with your host server to allow you to set it and forget it. Once installed you can build your Wordpress sites with a huge host of options. This is where I believe the (individual) must come to terms with the what they want from the tool. Just how much work are you willing to do to personalize or PIMP it as Greg calls it. If you wants to overcome the rejection rates form various networks, this will be a MUST in my HO.. Be quiet and sneak in the back door.

The Mage keyword tool is, well, scary. Using just one main keyword it can pull keywords dating back to the Roman Empire ; ) This is something I am not sure of as I never knew you could use that many keywords and will the spiders see them as bots, ect.. That's me asking a question ( help or hurt.)

Next and last is my question of being locked into the system. I believe I understand they are working on this, but if I want to sell one site at a later date, it's problematic. How to pull that site out of the system and maintain integrity.

I look forward to putting the system to the test. Everything I have heard from Greg has been direct, straight forward and clear. If the Mage does not suit you I believe he has been clear he offers a full refund so for me it's worth a huge effort to make it work for me.

    Cheers, Doc

    • Good luck Doc.
  • Any existing users care to offer their experiences with Mage, Sniper Mage and/or Mage sites and Google Farmer update?

  • So if you have wp mage, do you have to purchase each individual site from a provider that you publish this blog onto? I know you need to pay the $8 or watever for hosting a yr, but do I need to pay for each individual .com I post onto. Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question, im just getting into IM.

    Thanks
