Hey people,
i've been working very hard on my site for the past 3 months. The url is 6 months old now and i have been trying to build links by buying ( spent $100) and writing 2 articles everyday.. My PR is still 0 I keep reading advice on how to improve PR but i don't think it's working. Can someone tell me something different?

The toolbar PR doesn't update very often. If you are building links and adding content you should get some PR in the next update.

Trent is right, the browser toolbar updates about every 30 days, but PR is really not something to keep a focused eye on.

There are several signals to showing your Google weight increasing... Most notably being you start seeing real authority when you show up for random weird searches. (you'd see that in your analytics).

The best links come from TRUSTED industry websites. You get those by publishing really useful juicy content and then shopping that around to other websites letting them know that the content you just published would be really useful to their readers.

Try adding more content to your site, this usually helps. The more content you have indexed the better.

Also just try getting backlinks from authority sites and edu sites, this should help

Forget about checking PR, number of backlinks etc. Are you getting traffic?

Give your site a few years and hundred of pages of content and THEN check your PR if you want.

The toolbar PR doesn't determine where you are ranked in the search engines. You need backlinks and good content to move up in the search engines.

I think your effort of adding 2 articles per day and paying the $200 might not be enough to boost your Page Rank especially if there are no traffic visiting your website. You must also consider the competition of the main keywords you're targeting. If you're targeting keywords that are competing against Amazon, eBay, Walmart, etc, you might want to look for another sets keywords that are less competitive.

    PR really isn't important.

The PR you see is updated once every several months, probably around 4 or so, so don't panick. Don't focus on having a high PR, focus on traffic. Those things come naturally and are not very relevant actually

Just continue your link building campaign. Maybe your site will have rankings on the next update.

It amazes me how people in an SEO forum struggle with toolbar pagerank, it's not a measure you should be concerned with. I mean if Google can't be bothered updating it for 9 months then why should you put any value in it.

The next toolbar page rank may never happen at all; concentrate on your SERPs and traffic. TBPR is the least of your worries.

hi whyfrown, if you get enough traffic then don't worry about PR. Important factor is getting visitor not pr.

  • Does PR really matter? I dont give the slightest attention to getting PR. I do not buy links, I build it on my own. I have found results on the first page of Google, Bing and Yahoo. I find that more appreciating that being an owner of a high PR site.

I know many people who has got PR by buying links(Which I don't recommend), and they really get the results in the next PR update. So PR now owns to people who has money to spend, that doesn't mean you can rank high.

No need to worry about. PR 0 does net mean there is nothing in this side.
